"Speaking of parents. Mom wants us all to come this weekend. She's throwing a retirement party for Dad."

"So, you're introducing Macy?" I questioned. "All of this, too?"

He nodded. "I don't want to hide it. They won't be all that surprised. Mom knows about me and Tate already."

"What, really?"

"She got it out of me a few months ago. I didn't tell him because he'd act all weird," he admitted with a frown. "I didn't want to ruin a good family relationship over something we didn't put a label to."

Tate had been through enough, I couldn't blame him.

"He'd hate the secrecy."

Brock nodded and sighed. "I'll tell him before we go."

"Are you still going tomorrow to get the pup?"

Brock's smile was back at full force.

"Got the confirmation this morning. I want him to be hers and I already prepaid, so I'm thinking of just surprising her when we get there."

"I'm going, too," I said. There was no way I was missing our girl's excitement at finding her fur baby again. She was heartbroken every time she talked about the little guy.

"I assumed," he laughed. "We need to get some supplies. I'll handle that while you guys are out. I don't want to miss out tonight."

"Who said I'm sharing?" I joked with a cocky grin that matched his. He snorted but didn't argue, knowing damn well she would devour us all.

He started to walk away but stopped, turning back with a frown. "Don't let them tear her down."

"Never," I promised. My parents were judgmental but I doubted they'd be downright insulting. If they were it would be an end to that meal. I wouldn't allow anyone to talk down to my girl.

"Change, you look like a mess." With that Brock walked away, leaving me to find coverage and rush upstairs to change. I pulled on a light-pink button-down and dark jeans, casual but comfortable still. I sprayed on cologne and fixed my messy blond hair before walking into the lobby.

My breath caught as Macy sauntered in, gorgeous and confident. She had on a flowing, pink shirt that had billowing sleeves and a delicious neckline that teased her cleavage. It was tucked into gray shorts that were more dressy than casual. That and her matching pink kitten heels had her looking perfect for this meeting.

"You look amazing," I said as I met her. She giggled and tapped my shirt with her pink nails.

"We match."

"Good, it'll be a statement." I grinned down at her.

Just like that she was chasing away the mood that hovered over me anytime my parents were around.

"Can I tell them that you're my girlfriend?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Is that what we are now?"

Borrowing some of Brock's confidence, I nodded. "Yes," I grinned down at her and pressed my lips against hers.

She melted into the kiss, her hands pressed against my pecs.

"Good," she said. "I'm not the type to sleep around."

I laughed at that and she looked pleased with herself.

Of course, our bubble was ruined by the door swinging open and my parents striding back in. They were punctual at least.

They came up short at the sight of me with Macy. Her hand tightened on mine and she gave them a bright smile.
