“Protego,” she moaned against his mouth, but he continued pushing.

He thrust inside her, and Primrose’s hips bucked up against him. His red eyes darkened further, a beautiful and enticing glare as he claimed her. He claimed her body and spirit, all of her, and she saw him. Saw him for what he was. Man, demon, spirit. He was hers and she fully welcomed it.

Protego pounded into her, and she felt herself teetering on the edge of complete pleasure.

“Come, I want you to come for me,” he rasped between heavy breaths. She obeyed.

Primrose’s body twitched with pleasure as she fell off the edge, utter fire as she hit her apex. She kissed his neck, grinding onto him, and Protego climaxed, shaking against her. He placed his lips against hers, a soft kiss, and then slid out, lying beside her.

“What were we—what are we? Married?” she asked, smiling.

He turned onto an elbow and faced her. “I heard a human use a term once and I think it’s perfect for us.”

“What was it?”

“Twin flames,” he said, and Primrose’s smile transformed into a grin.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Themorningsunpouredthrough Primrose’s window, awakening them from their blissful sleep. She sat up in bed and outstretched her arms towards the ceiling, yawning deeply.

“Am I allowed to at least say goodbye before we go?”

Protego looked pensive. “Of course you can! But we do have to be careful about how… I don’t want to disrupt the order of things. The curse has already affected so much.”

“Like what?”

“Initially, I believe Sera was your parent’s daughter. They had to change the course of her life to find a place for you,” Protego explained.

“So Sera is my sister?” Primrose’s eyes were wide with shock.

“In a way? She is your parallel.”

“Hmm. I think she deserves to know that,” she said.

“I’m inclined to agree. I think we owe her that much.”

Primrose sighed. “We’ll tell Sera and Haruka the truth. As for the others, I’ll have to say goodbye in my own way....”

“I love you. I’ll leave you to say goodbye, and then we’ll meet in the front of the grounds to explain things to the girls.” He smiled, cupping her cheek in his palm.

“I loveyou.”

Primrose entered the Sharp’s quarters to find Mr. Sharp reading in bed and Mrs. Sharp brushing her long brown-gray hair.

“It’s nice to see you taking care of yourself,” Primrose said.

“I’m usually so busy I don’t have time, but I decided to treat myself today,” Mrs. Sharp explained.

“You should do that more often. I’m grateful for you both. Take care of yourselves,” Primrose told her and then cleared out of the room.

She heard Master Zuberi and her father chatting in the dining room as she went downstairs. Primrose took a deep breath before entering the brightly lit space. She smiled at the flowers growing outside the glass ceiling and addressed her schoolmaster.

“It’s a beautiful day.”

“It is indeed, Primrose,” he replied.

“I’ll miss this room, the bright sun. I’ll think of it often,” she said.
