“We’re sure,” I said. “Thank you for all of your help. I’m so thankful for all of you.”
“Of course,” Zin said, smiling.
We all got out and went to the entrance, stepping inside.
“Goodnight,” I said to Stella and her mates.
“Sleep well!”
I steered Raider towards the hall, leaning into him. “Are you okay?” I asked.
“I’ll heal quickly,” Raider said as we came to our door. “Areyouokay?”
“Yes. No. Yes?”
We stepped inside and he shut the door softly, locking it. We both released a sigh of relief.
“We did it, sugar,” he whispered, cupping my face. “I’m so sorry that you were pulled into the middle of all of this. I am so lucky to have met you.”
“I love you,” I said, my eyes filling with tears. “I never doubted you, but I was scared for you. I was so scared that you would be hurt beyond repair.”
He thumbed away a tear, his touch gentle. He pressed his forehead to mine. “Because of you, my entire life has changed. Everything has changed.”
“For me too,” I said, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I love you so much, Raider.”
“I love you too. He picked me up and pulled my legs around his hips.
“You’re still hurt,” I hissed.
“I promise you I’m fine, sugar,” he chuckled. “And I’ll be even better once I have you in our bed.”
He carried me to the shower, the two of us rinsing off quickly. I groaned as he rubbed my body, the soap running down the drain. When we finished, I pushed him against the bathroom counter.
“Let me re-bandage you,” I said. “Before we do anything…”
“You mean before I make you come.”
“Hey,” I teased, swatting his chest. “You were just shot by your brother. How about you take it easy?”
“Easy is my middle name,” he teased.
I rolled my eyes as I unwrapped his bandage and then gasped. The wound was already almost healed.
“Told you, sugar. I heal fast.”
“Is that just part of how you are?”
“Yes. Rhomboans heal very quickly.” He tipped my face up with two fingers. “You were so worried for me. Let me make it up to you.”
“I won’t say no to that,” I giggled.
I gasped as he lifted me, throwing me over his shoulders. He patted my ass cheek as he carried me to our bed.
“Raider,” I laughed.
“Yes, sugar?”
He put me down in the center of our bed, crawling on top of me. Desire and happiness rolled through me at once.
