“You’re blushing,” he whispered.

“I’m always blushing with you,” I mumbled.

“True.” He let out a soft hum and then cocked his head. “I have a proposal for you.”

“A proposal?”

“Yes.” He leaned back, his gaze never leaving me.

“Well. Shoot.”

“I want to spend the rest of my life showing you just how beautiful and amazing and cherished you are. I want to give every part of my soul and being to you. Because of you, I’ll wake up every day happier. In love. The luckiest damn cowboy in the entire universe.”

I sniffled, swallowing hard. “What are you proposing?”

“That I go wherever you go, if you’ll have me.”

“Of course I will,” I whispered. “I’ll have you now and forever, Raider.”

He smiled and cupped my face, kissing me. I held onto him, feeling all of my worry finally let go.

The universe had brought me to the Wild West for a reason. And that reason was to love him.

“Alright, sugar,” he whispered. “Spread your legs for me. I wanna hear you screaming my name to the stars tonight.”

CHAPTER22

Two Weeks Later

Mari

“Are you sure you’re okay with me taking your spot?”

I gave Max a big hug before stepping back, grinning at him. The two of us were standing on one of the landing platforms, which happened to be embedded in a massive tree. One with a trunk large enough that at least ten ships the size of ours could land.

This was where the ship was docked while everyone stayed at the new venue, the Crystal Oasis.

“Just for this galaxy. Don’t go getting a big head,” I teased. “We’re going to have a honeymoon and then I’ll be back to work. Although, I have a feeling you’ll be added to our roster permanently.”

Max blushed. “Alright, Mari. And you’re staying on this planet, right?”

“We are,” I said.

Raider and I had decided that we wanted to have our honeymoon on the same planet that everyone else was staying at. For the six weeks that they were here, we would be too. But, instead of working and performing, I would be taking the first vacation that I've ever had. And what better way to spend it than with my mate.

This galaxy was known for its beauty. There were six planets, all of them with unique wildlife and forests. This one was my favorite though. The trees reminded me of the near extinct redwoods on Earth, only they were at least four times larger. They towered towards the skies, the bases often crystalized. Walking through the forests here felt like walking through a cathedral.

We’d booked a stay at a hot spring nearby. It would be the perfect place for the two of us to relax and have fun. I’d brought along some costume projects in case I needed something to do, all of which were stored in the three massive suitcases Raider was unloading. All he’d brought was a bag.

After everything that happened, taking a break sounded wonderful. Before we left Rhombo, I had the chance to meet his parents. We had a wonderful dinner before Raider had announced his intentions to leave.

His family had supported him.

It sounded like Rider was in trouble for the things he’d done. He would face punishment for the murder he had committed. Since we had learned that, it seemed like Raider could breathe a little easier knowing that her murder wouldn’t go unpunished.

“Mari, sugar, we’ve got our things,” Raider called.

“Have fun,” I told Max. “We’ll be going to one of the shows.”
