Every instinct in my body was urging me to fuck her. Worship her.Loveher. I carried her through a narrow opening and then swept back a piece of fabric, stepping into my hideout.

I’d had this place for years. At least fifty, and it had never failed me.

Nest.

Dhagonit, this was going to be a challenge.

I slowly settled her into the hammock I had in the corner of the room. I removed my rope, but then bound her wrists and ankles together. Her bones were so small compared to mine. Humans were so fragile.

I’d never been this close to one before. The beings were strange and beautiful. Her skin offered her no protection from the elements, and her fingers were clawless. She didn’t have a tail or venom to use for her defense.

And yet she’d challenged me on stage.

A low clicking noise sounded in my throat. My lack of control horrified me.

Did humans have magic? Perhaps she could control my mind…or cocks.

Both werestillhard.

Dhagonit.

Her breath hitched, her eyes opening and closing. I hovered over her, watching her wake up. The venom I’d given her hadn’t lasted very long and there wasn’t a mark on her soft skin like there should have been.

All strange things.

Maybe burlesque dancers had secret powers.

Her eyes opened again, bright blue.

She stared at me.

I stared at her.

Most beings—Humans, Lazulians, Tourmalinds, Rhomboans—would be screaming and begging right now. I was a big, scary alien, but this little thing was just glaring at me.

“You ruined my fucking show.”

You just came from my venom, and that’s the first thing you say?I snorted. I wasn’t sure what I had expected her to say, but that was not it. “And? Why aren’t you scared of me?”

“What do you mean ‘and’? Why areyouscared ofme?”

“I’m not,” I growled.

“Then why do you have me tied up?”

I narrowed all my eyes at her. “Because you might try to escape, sugar.”

She scoffed, glowering. “They will come for me. They will find me and then you’ll go straight back to jail like the outlaw you are.”

A snarl unfurled in my chest, and I leaned in. She had no idea what I had gone through or what I was willing to do. I noted a flicker of fear there, but still—she had a good poker face.

Why wasn’t she screaming? Why wasn’t she begging for me to release her? The two of us continued to glare at each other.

She lifted her wrist, pressing her lips together. “If you’re not scared of me, then let me go.”

She was crazy if she thought I was going to. She could tease me, make fun of me all she wanted, curse me, hate me.

“Not a chance in hell, sugar.”
