When she does as she’s told, he smiles. ‘I know I’ve thrown a lot at you, but you don’t need to freak out. I wasn’t always Santa. It’s my job, that’s it. What I’m trying to say is that under it all, I’m just a regular guy.’ He shuffles a little closer, relieved when she doesn't move away. Her cheeks flush and his cock twitches at the sight.

He wants her more than he’s wanted anyone before. It has to be on her terms though. He’s thrown enough at her tonight. If she wants him again, she can have him. No question. He’ll be hers as often and in as many ways as possible. But not like this. Not when she’s trying to get her head around his world - or at least the small part of it he’s shared with her.

‘What do you do?’

She frowns at him, thrown by his random question. ‘What?’

‘For a job. What do you do?’

‘I’m a recruitment officer. What’s your point?’

‘My point is that you’re Scarlett and you’re a recruitment officer. I’m Nick and I’m Santa. It’s my job. It’s not who I am.’

‘You can hardly compare the two jobs.’

‘Why not? I wasn’t born Santa, and I don’t plan on dying as Santa. At least not by choice. I fully intend on passing on the sleigh at some stage, and going back to being plain old Nick. But for now, it is what it is. Nothing has changed. I’m still the same man who had his tongue buried deep in your pussy an hour ago.’

He smiles when she blushes. ‘Yeah. I haven’t forgotten.’

‘I’m relieved to hear that.’

‘I don’t know, Nick. This is all so... bizarre.’

‘Of course it is, but all I’m asking is that you try to see past the whole Santa thing. It’s just a job. A title. That’s it. But, if you’ve changed your mind about me, I’ll accept it. I’m hoping you haven’t. I’m hoping you can see me the same way you did before I told you.’ He gestures towards the stairs. ‘I’ll give you some space.’

He’s blown it. One look at her face, and that much is obvious. No one wants to fuck Santa. Hell, no one wants to even date him.

Scarlett takes a fewseconds to process what Nick just said to her. What Santa just said to her. Nick is Santa.

She believes him. Absolutely believes every single word he spoke. How can she not, when he produced her childhood, bringing it out of her head with his... magic? She presumes it’s magic. So much of what is happening still confuses her.

Reindeer. Magic. A sleigh. It shouldn’t make sense, but it does. She looks over at him. Of course she’s attracted to him. How could she not be. He’s gorgeous. But that doesn’t take away from the fact he is who he is. He turns towards the stairs. If he leaves the room, the connection will be broken. If she lets him walk away, he’ll always think his job had come between them.

‘Nick...’

He stops and turns to face her. Santa or not, this larger than life, stunning man wants her. She can’t for the life of her figure out why. But he does. Maybe it’s a case of her being the only option available at the moment.

‘Don’t do that.’

‘Do what?’ she asks, not sure exactly what she was doing.

‘Put yourself down. I want you because you’re beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous actually. I want you because I’m attracted to you. I don’t sleep around, Scarlett. I was with you last night because I wanted to be with you. To feel you, touch you, hear you.’

‘Are you in my head?’

‘Not all the time. Why did you stop me from going upstairs?’

‘What?’

‘You stopped me. Why? I’m going to keep asking you, so you might as well stop skirting the question and answer it honestly.’

‘I guess I didn’t want you to leave. I didn’t want you to think I couldn’t get over what you’ve just told me. Even though I’m not sure how to let it all sink in. It’s a big info dump, Nick. You’re Santa. The Santa.’

‘Fine. You win.’ He walks back over to the couch and sits down, one arm resting on the armrest and the other on his leg. He pats one of his legs with his hand. ‘Come here.’

‘Excuse me?’

‘Santa is asking you to sit on his lap and tell him what you want for Christmas.’
