“Oh.” Ellen blinked several times before curving her lips into yet another smile. “Okay, then. Is there...is there anything you’d like me to bring?”

“No, I’ve got it,” she replied.

Ellen stood and began gathering her stuff. “Let me know if you change your mind.”

“You’re leaving?” Lynn said.

“There’s a few things I have to go do.” All she had to do was finish her paperwork, but she was going to do that at home.

“I’ll see you tonight, then.”

“See you soon.”

She crossed the room and was just about to open the door when Lynn said, “Ellen?”

Making sure her smile was still in place, Ellen turned. “Yes?”

“I was wrong about you,” she said. “I’m sorry—for everything.”
