“No, you really weren’t.”

Braxton huffed out a breath. “Let’s just bring Jeremiah back here. Maybe Autumn can get a vision from him. Then, we can figure out exactly where he’s hiding all of the stuff he stole.”

“You just want him here so you can beat the crap out of him,” Devon accused.

He didn’t even bother hiding it and nodded enthusiastically. “I really do.”

“Get in line,” Kingston muttered.

“Timing is key,” Harrison reminded them. “If you just grab Jeremiah, and he has a failsafe way to get rid of the objects he stole, then it will be a whole lot more difficult to prove he had them in the first place.”

Autumn nodded. “So, we need to figure out where his stash is first.”

“His stash…” Kingston stood up. “I have an idea! Come on.”

He pulled Autumn to her feet and dragged her toward the male suspended in the air. “Tumi, why don’t you touch him and see if you can get another vision.”

Autumn tried to drag her feet, completely appalled by the very idea. “You want me to what now?”

“Just try touching his leg. We’ve never tried physical contact with someone to see if you can get a vision from them. If your powers are expanding, maybe this will help trigger something.”

“That’s not a bad idea. Give it a try,” Keo encouraged.

“I…okay.” She huffed out a breath. “We can try it.”

Autumn held tight to Kingston’s hand as they approached the man splayed out like a suspended starfish. Thankfully, Nieman was still passed out, so he wasn’t aware they were approaching him. She glanced up at Kingston, and when he nodded, she reached out to touch the demon’s exposed ankle, figuring skin-to-skin contact was probably best for their experiment.

The vision hit her with the force of a freight train.

Instead of a movie clip flashing in her head, it felt like her mind was being stretched until she was in two places at once. She could see a thick book bound in dark red leather sitting on a carved book stand in front of her on a sturdy table. Next to the book stand were several old tomes that she somehow knew were other spellbooks that had been stolen from other magical families.

Behind the long table were tall bookcases with various items displayed under tiny spotlights. Several feet away was a large wooden desk with a cloth-covered tray on top of it. The tray had a selection of precious gems carelessly laid out on top as if someone had either been counting them or checking their quality. Off to the side was a pile of uncut stones that had yet to be refined. Overall, there was a fortune left out on the desk.

She’d found Jeremiah’s hidden treasure room…the thieving bastard.

Kingston squeezed her hand.“I can see it, too.”

That almost startled her out of the vision.“What? How?”

“I guess it’s through our bond. I’ve never seen one of your visions before, but I can see everything as clearly as if we are standing in that room together.”

“My visions aren’t normally like this. This almost feels like astral projecting but focused directly on the grimoire. Do you see how the book is brighter than everything else in the room?”

“I do.”He paused, then said,“The room is too big to be a closet or hidden behind some wall. Can you expand the view? Maybe see what else is in the room so we can figure out where it is located?”

“I can try.”

She tried to think of it like looking at a map online. If she zoomed out, perhaps she could see what was beyond the room. Unfortunately, as her attention strayed from the grimoire, the harder it was to hold the vision. She felt stretched too thin, like her mind was a rubber band that was ready to snap back in place. She felt her body start to shake and her head began to pound from the strain of expanding the vision.

Needing something they could follow up on, she forced herself to scan the rest of the room and felt sheer elation when she viewed a set of wide windows. Glancing out the windows, she saw a bright blue sea and a low mountain range in the distance. While she still had no idea where it was, she could at least tell it was somewhere in the Human Realm.

“I know exactly where that is,”Kingston said out loud, his voice hard. “My brother’s secret treasure room full of stolen shit is in a villa on the coast of Italy.”

“Are you sure?” Braxton asked.

Kingston laughed bitterly. “There is absolutely no fucking way I’m wrong about it, considering it’s the villa I had been forced to sell while I was in prison. The fucking bastard bought my old home to store the shit he framed me for stealing.”
