“Tye’s dad, Elan, is the one summoning shades,” I started, then ended with a high note. “And I know how to get our mate bonds back.”

“Start at the beginning, firecracker,” Jolon ordered as all my mates settled around me. “And leave nothing out.”

* * *

Istared aimlessly into the water that pounded into the shower.

My mates were still processing everything I’d told them. Their anger over what Tye had done was understandable. They were having a hard time coming to terms with his role in my kidnapping and how he’d hurt me, despite the compulsion. They didn’t trust him, but I hoped with time, they’d see him the way I saw him and be able to forgive the sins Tye had no control over.

Don’t worry, Tye said. I could practically feel his smirk through our bond.I have faith that they’ll come around. You’re too important to them. And to me.

I smiled despite the worry that churned inside my heart and toyed with the wolf necklace Tye had given to me while I stepped into the shower.I hope so, but I’m blocking you out now. A girl needs some privacy, and the bathroom is a sacred space.

Damn, and things were just getting interesting, he teased. What I wouldn’t give to lather you with soap and watch the bubbles trail down every delicious curve of your body.

I sucked in a breath. If there was one thing Tye and I had, it was chemistry. Picking up the soap, I glided it over my skin. Two could play this game. I sent him a mental image of me sliding my hands down my shoulders and across my chest toward my breasts before shutting him out. The start of his growl sounded before the connection went silent. Giggling, I focused on showering.

It felt heavenly to wash the grime from my skin, especially now that Tye had washed so much of it from my soul with his beautiful magick. I stood beneath the spray until the gray water finally ran clear, then shaved and scrubbed everything again, washing away the inky feel of the darkness that had crawled through my body and the phantom feel of the blade Tye had used to carve my skin.

I was exhausted, and yet my body thrummed with awareness. With all of my mates beneath the same roof, something had shifted inside me. I couldn’t explain the low buzz of need that had awoken when they were all within reach.

In the privacy of the bathroom, I let my hand glide down between my legs and gasped at the strength of the pleasure that bolted through me. I strummed again, and my pussy creamed.

A knock on the door had me jerking my hand away, and I scrambled for the knob to turn off the water.

“One second,” I called, and stepped from the tub. “Shit,” I grumbled as I looked for a towel.

The door to the bathroom opened and Kota rushed in. “Are you okay?” He paused, and his gaze darkened as it dropped down my body. The way he looked at me, on the cusp of my own teasing, made my thighs clench. I was so turned on that every nerve seemed to be a pleasure center.

“Sorry,” he grumbled, the sound pure grit. He cleared his throat, but he didn’t stop looking at all my bare skin. “I heard you curse, and I thought you’d hurt yourself.”

“I do ache,” I teased, knowing he could scent my arousal mixed in the steam. “Just not the way you thought. And I was cursing because I couldn’t find a towel.” I said, spotting the small stack he clutched in a tight fist.

“Uh. Right.” He held the towels out to me. “I was bringing you these.”

Kota swallowed, and the scent of his arousal mixed with mine.

“You’re allowed to look, you know,” I teased while drying off. He tracked the soft cloth everywhere it grazed my skin, following its path up my leg to my center. “You’re allowed to touch.”

Kota closed his eyes, holding himself back. “You need to heal.”

“No, Kota.” I reached for him, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing a line along the column of his throat. He groaned and warped himself around me. “Ineedmy mates.”

Chapter Eleven

Lorn

Apparently, I wasn’t all that seductive, because as hard as I tried to convince Kota to take me back to his room, he simply kissed me, set me back on my feet, urged me to get dressed, and told me to meet him downstairs.

Jolon, Syler, and Dason greeted me when I stepped off the last step, sweeping me up one at a time and kissing me passionately before they left the house to run the perimeter. I hated to be apart from them, even if they were close by, but now that Elan had broken the veil, the threat against us was more dire than ever. Jolon said we needed to be prepared for anything, but that meant only one thing to me.

I needed to claim my mates and get the grimoire back. If what Tye said was correct, it should just appear. I kept waiting for the magickal moment it showed up on the coffee table, but so far, nothing.

Chayton fed me a steak with a blood sauce, and I ran my hand along his waist on my way to put my plate in the sink.

Scooping me up, Chayton set me on the counter and cupped my face. His lips were velvet steel as he kissed me, devouring me until my toes curled.

My pussy throbbed with the need to be filled.
