“Goddess, I missed you,” I whispered when he pulled back and let me breathe.

“You look flushed. Are you feeling okay?” His brows pulled down, and he leaned to the side to call for Kota.

I tugged on one of his braids to get his attention. “I’m fine. Cross my heart. I’m just… just…”

“What’s going on?” Kota rounded the island and must have seen the same rosy hue coloring my cheeks. “Is she feverish?”

I blew out a raspberry. “I’m not feverish. We don’t get sick like mundanes.”

“We don’t,” Chayton replied, but he still looked worried. “We don’t know that much about tribrids, however. It’s possible with your mixed bloodlines that things have changed.” He crossed his arms and stepped back, studying me as Kota let his magick pour into my body to search for injury or sickness.

“What’s going on with Lorn?” Axel asked, his worry tinging his voice as he hurried into the kitchen.

Goddess, this was becoming a spectacle.

“Nothing. Your brother is worried for no reason.”

“You look a little flushed,” Axel said.

I growled in frustration. “Not you too.”

Axel held his hands up in surrender. “Sorry, babe. But you have to expect that we’re going to hover a little after almost losing you. Twice.”

“There’s nothing wrong with her,” Kota informed them, speaking about me like I wasn’t even in the room. I crossed my legs, then arms, and pouted, even as their combined scents erected my nipples into taught peaks.

Axel cocked his head, studying me. “Except that she’s angry with us.”

Chayton inhaled deeply, and his chocolate eyes deepened in color as realization sparked in his gaze. “No, Kota’s right. There’s nothing physically wrong with you, nizhóní. Except I can see the way you’re crossing your legs, squeezing those thick thighs together. And your pretty tits are aching, aren’t they? I bet your nipples are tight little buds behind that bra.” The possessive way he spoke made me squirm on the counter.

“Now that you have all your mates, I think you’re going into heat.”

Heat? Like wolf shifters? That explained the need that grew by the hour, and the way even my clothing rubbing against my body made me feel like I was going to come out of my skin.

“Do you need us, baby?” Chayton asked.

“Yes,” I admitted, glad that someone was finally taking my sexual needs seriously. Kota had been so worried about feeding me and making me rest earlier, but my need had only grown since I’d teased myself in the shower. If someone didn’t fuck me soon, I’d be forced to do it myself.

“Kota. Axel. Why don’t you take Lorn upstairs?” Chayton smirked. “I think she needs a little sexual healing,” he teased Kota, who hadn’t taken his eyes off me since he’d heard the wordheat.

“What about you?” I asked, not wanting to leave any of them out. Honestly, having as many hands on my body as possible sounded pretty damn good.

Chayton swayed forward and cupped my cheek, running his thumb down the center of my bottom lip.

“I’ll have you, nizhóní, and I look forward to replacing my claiming mark along your neck.” His fingers lightly brushed the place his mark used to reside, opposite of Tye’s. That light touch was a promise I held onto. “But the twins share a relationship none of the rest of us have, and I think it’s important for them to share this with you alone.”

“I love you,” I whispered, tears gathering in my eyes from just how much. He was always thinking of others and putting their needs and desires before his own.

“And I love you. Always. Now, go. Before I change my mind.”

Axel pulled me off the counter into his arms, carrying me like a prize. I squealed and then giggled as he took the stairs two at a time, jogging up them in an impressive show of strength and stamina.

Setting me on my feet once we were in his room, he backed up until he sat on the bed and pulled me down to straddle his waist. His hands were a whisper over my sides.

“I never want you out of my sight again.” His fingers traced the edge of my shirt, barely grazing my skin. That light touch had me shivering.

I placed my palm on his chest, feeling his heartbeat. “Then mate me, Axel, and we’ll never be without each other.”

Kota leaned in the doorway, watching.
