Rafe didn’t answer immediately, his eyes still moving over my figure. It was making me a little self-conscious, not that I’d admit it aloud.

“Red smoke,” Sebastian answered, when his brother didn’t. “The color grows more vibrant and radiates more as the lust gets stronger. It doesn’t have to be strong to feed on it; if we can see it, we can take it. But the more intense it is, the less we need to sate our hunger.”

Damn, he was full of information. Much better at answering my questions than Rafael had been earlier.

I tried to come up with another question about demons, but drew a blank.

“For reference, Rafe’s about as lusty as it gets right now,” Zander added.

Rafael elbowed him in the side. He grunted, but otherwise didn’t react.

I finally pulled my gaze off my new mate and looked around the kitchen. My eyebrows shot upward when I saw my shop’s boxes everywhere.

Everywhere, everywhere. There were two stacks on the table, and a bunch spread out on the counters, open wide.

“Tell me you didn’t rob my coffee shopagain,” I said, the words coming out harsher than I expected. There were so many boxes that, on second glance, there was no way all of it could’ve come from just my shop.

“He paid this time,” Zander said.

“I told you I’d pay for last time, too. I’ll even leave enough for your interest.” Rafael ran a hand through his hair, dragging the long, wavy locks out of his eyes.

“What is up with you and chocolate?” I gestured to the tower of boxes.

“Sugar eases a demon’s hunger. A male’s, at least. Female demons’ hunger is different than ours,” Sebastian explained. “Male demons almost always feel some measure of hunger, so we eat sugar to keep it at bay. Females don’t feel it constantly, but when they get hungry, the need is sharp and difficult to ignore.”

Great.

That was exactly what I needed.Sharphunger.

Sebastian turned back to whatever he was cooking. “Females also lure men when they’re hungry. You’re starting to lure.”

“Considering Rafe’s current reaction, I’d say it’s hit himhard,” Zander added. “Pun intended.”

Rafe elbowed him again.

“Fantastic.” I walked over to the kitchen table and dropped into a chair, far from the guys. At least my lure wasn’t so strong that Rafael’s brothers were getting lusty.

The way he’d reacted when he thought Miley was my boyfriend made me think his reaction wouldn’t be great if my lure affected his brothers.

“This is almost ready. We’ll head out before it gets too much stronger,” Sebastian said, lifting a saucepan and expertly pouring it into another bowl. “There should be leftovers to last through tomorrow, too.”

“Thanks,” I said, when Rafael didn’t speak up.

His gaze was still lingering on me, hot, bright, and red. Very, very red.

I didn’t look down to check for evidence of howhardit had hit him.

“No problem. We’ll be happy to come back for dinner again tomorrow if you need us; just let us know,” Sebastian said smoothly.

“I’ll cook for her tomorrow,” Rafael said, his voice low.

I wasn’t sure what to say to that, so I didn’t say anything.

Neither did his brothers.

I played a stupid game on my phone so I wouldn’t have to look at any of them, but Rafe’s gaze didn’t leave me.

There was a knock at the door after a few minutes, and Sebastian pulled it open. He carried a large box into the apartment, heading toward the table I was sitting at.
