“I’ll take care of it.” The grit in August’s voice was enough to scare the shit out of me.

Bash and Zander’s voices filled our ears. “She’s not here. The place is empty. We’re headed back to meet you and deal with Reiner.”

If I hadn’t already been plastered to Rafael’s side, I would’ve scooted closer.

August hung up, slipped his phone into his pocket, and then set his hands on the table.

Eric’s face paled as the dragon shifter slowly lifted his gaze back to the vampire’s.

August said, his voice low and gritty, “Get the girl’s location into the Villins’ hands in the next two minutes, or I’ll drag you and your entire fucking clan to the prison. While you all starve to death, I’ll make sure all of them know they’re there because ofyou.”

The fear in Eric’s eyes was so thick, I could almost taste it. He jerked his head in a nod, and typed something into his phone. A moment later, Rafael’s phone buzzed.

He opened the message and found a link that went to a live camera. Miles was on the screen, fighting against the chains on her wrists. The gray on her feet and ankles had spread up to the middle of her thighs since the last video, and fear made my heart pound hard. There were coordinates on the page too, and I assumed that was the location.

“Got it?” August asked Raf.

“Yes. Thank you.” Rafael lifted his gaze to the dragon’s.

August dipped his head. “As far as anyone’s concerned, this conversation never happened.”

“Agreed.”

“I’m going to walk away now. If the vampire leaves this table alive, I will carryyouback to prison. Are we clear?”

“Crystal.” Rafael’s gaze moved back to the vampires’, whose eyes were narrowing. “Escort my mate to the door.”

I opened my mouth to protest—and then realized that was stupid, because I couldn’t fight a damn vampire.

So I closed it.

And when Rafael lifted me over his lap and August grabbed my arm, I let him lead me away from the table. The man basically had to drag me along, because my attention was on the booth behind me.

All hell broke loose the moment I was gone. I heard a table crash into something—or someone—and terror cut through me.

My gaze caught on Bash and Zander, and I gestured frantically toward the booth. Tapping the device in my ear, I said, “Raf’s in there with Eric and his bodyguards.”

The brothers sprinted for the booth. Before they reached it, Rafael stepped out.

His hands were covered in blood, the tattoos, wings, and horns of his demon form vanishing as quickly as they had appeared.

He nodded at his brothers, and they slowed.

August let go of my arm and kept walking, calling over his shoulder, “Have the Villins send me my sister’s location.”

I sure as hell wasn’t going to argue with him.

Raf grabbed my arm and pulled me in close to his side as we headed for the door. His hands were bloody, but neither of us cared.

“Our guys will clean up the mess,” Zander told me, when he noticed me peeking over my shoulder. “There won’t be evidence left to find.”

Good.

That was good.

And now, it was time to get Miley back.
