“Yeah,” I huff. “And I’m sorry I’m in a shit mood.” My fingers wrap around the handle of my gun.

I kill her swiftly. No pain, no torture like I did her sister. She pays for the consequences of her crime toward Jade like I’m still paying for mine.

Trick or Cheat - Diggy Graves

“This little piggy went to the market,” I murmur as I drop the butcher hatchet on Andy’s big toe.

He screams against the rag I shoved into his mouth before wrapping duct tape all around his head.

“This little piggy stayed home.” I leave it intact. “This little piggy had roast beef.” I slam the hatchet again, accidentally chopping the one I had just tried to avoid too. A frustrated huff escapes me. “You’re shaking a lot, Andy. It’s very hard to aim. I’ll admit, using a hatchet doesn’t help.”

I lift my arm again. “This little piggy had none.” I skip it. “This little piggy…Shit, what is it? Hold on.”

I leave the hatchet on his wooden table and grab my phone in the pocket of my jeans.

I take my time to google ‘the little piggy song lyrics’ while he thrashes on his table, crying and desperately attempting to get away. He won’t. I’ve tied him to his kitchen table legs, arms and legs spread.

“Calm down, will you? I’m trying to focus.” He’s already missing all his fingers and his other toes, but I wasn’t doing it depending on the song. Now I can’t finish if the lyrics don’t match what I’m doing.

“Oh, that’s right.” I throw my phone on the floor and turn back to him. “This little piggy cried wee wee wee.” I raise the hatchet high above my head. “All. The. Way.Home.”I slam it on his ankle with enough strength to cut off his entire foot in one go.

His screams feed my anger.

The moment I saw Jade’s face beaten up, I knew someone was going to die painfully, but I was just missing who. Elliot found that out right away.

Now I need to let myself be.

And Andy needs to die slowly and painfully.

The moment Jade slams into my body, I wrap my arms around her.

“Oh my god. I was so worried for you.”

My eyebrows lift all the way to my hairline. “For me?”

She looks up, goes on her toes, and presses a kiss against my lips. Nodding, she flattens herself again. “What if you got caught? What if…Andy hurt you. Ethan, you can’t just go around slaughtering people.”

“He hurt you.” My sentence doesn’t leave anything up for discussion. So I’m not too sure why she keeps going.

“I don’t care. What are you going to do? Kill every single person who hurts me? That’s fucking ridiculous.”

“Yeah, that’s already done, my love.” Elliot comes out of the kitchen as he says that. “Hurt you, disrespected you, breathed a bit too hard your way. All gone. He’s a serial killer with very specific victims. But you’re right, itisridiculous.”

I wonder why she’s not scared when I smile wickedly at her, but I love her for it. I grab her tighter, leaning down to bury my face against her neck.

The closer she is, the closer I need her to be. I hear her whimper, but I squeeze my arms anyway, needing her warmth and the smell of green apples.

I do it until I’m pulled away violently by the neck of my shirt.

“Ease up, Ted Bundy. She’s in a lot of pain.”

I’m in a lot of pain when I don’t touch her, but I don’t say that.

“Where is it?”
