He rolls until we’re chest to chest, legs tangled, not giving a fuck about the cum all over my chest. “It felt right in the moment.”

I shrug. “I like it. Makes me feel all girly and shit.”

Ghost laughs loudly. “I didn’t say it to make you feel girly.”

“I’m fucking with you,” I say and peck his lips.

Truth is, it makes me feel damn good to be his baby love.

Chapter 11

Alexey

Pullingintothedrivewayof the estate, my heart skips a beat when I see Bridget’s car still sitting there.

Getting that phone call last night, I almost dropped everything I was doing to run to her, but instead, I called one of the only people I can trust with her safety. I never thought in a million goddamn years Dmitri would drive there, though.

I tried to keep calm, but inside, I was raging that someone dared to scare or touch her. When I find out who’s behind this, they’re as good as dead.

I pull into the garage and let myself in through the door that leads into the house. I can hear Bridget’s laugh carry down the hallway, so I kick my shoes off and follow the sound. I find her, Dmitri, and Nik in the game room behind the stairs. Dmitri is behind her, helping her line up for a shot. He slides his hand slowly back down her arm to grab her hand on the pool stick and moves her hand to hit the cue ball. The eight ball sinks into the corner pocket, and she whoops.

“I won!” she exclaims, doing a little dance.

Nik rolls his eyes and lays his stick on the table. “You didn’t win. He did.”

She scoffs. “How dare you? I won fair and square.”

“I agree,Moya zhizn,” I say, announcing my presence.

She whirls around to face me. “Nice of you to join us. I just kicked his ass in pool. Twice.” She walks over to me. “Thank you for taking my call last night.”

“It was never a question,” I say sincerely. Confusion and excitement coursed through me when I saw her name flash across my phone. Then fear and anger when I realized why she was calling. Either way, I felt it meant something that she called us before the police. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. I think.” She runs her fingers through that long red hair that I love wrapping around my fist. “It’s just scary. It’s not something you think will ever happen to you.”

I can’t resist rubbing my knuckles down her cheek. “I’m glad you trusted us with your safety.”

Her cheeks darken. “I called Caden and Ghost first.” I try not to let that bother me. At least they were on the list of people I trusted with her. “I should have called the cops.”

“No. You did the right thing. Stuff like that gets pushed under the rug by the police,” I argue. “With us, you know we’ll get to the bottom of this.” I take her hand, and I’m surprised when she lets me. “Why don’t you show me some more of your pool skills?”

She snorts. “You mean his pool skills?” She gestures to Dmitri, making him grin. “I can’t play pool for shit.”

“What happened to I won fair and square?” Nik asks, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I was full of fucking shit,” Bridget laughs. “I’ve never won a game a day in my life.”

“Why don’t we play another game?” I suggest.

“I’m down,” Bridget says with a shrug. “I don’t have anything to do until Les gets back later today.”

“Perfect. You’re on my team,” I grin.

“I suck. Did you not get that?” Bridget asks, picking up the pool stick.

“Oh, trust me,Moya zhizn. I remember very clearly how good you suck,” I tease.

Her mouth pops open, and then she laughs. “Walked right into that one.”
