She smiles and keeps digging through the box.

My sister and brother-in-law are sitting on the floor near the tree, helping out the kids. My mom walks into the living room carrying a tray of drinks, alcohol for the grown-ups, chocolate milk for the kids.

I stand up and take the tray from her. “Let me get that for you, Ma.”

She smiles brightly at me. “Thanks, honey. I appreciate it.”

I set the tray down and help hand out the drinks. My phone has been silent since that last exchange, which, I mean, makes sense. I know he’s with his family. But still, it feels like I’m missing a part of myself when I don’t hear from him.

“You alright, Alex? You’ve been looking at your phone a lot,” my mom asks, concerned.

I debate what to tell her. I don’t want her to get overexcited, but Zach feels like he might be something special, and I don’t want to keep that from mom or my sister. They might be pains in my ass half the time, but I know they love me.

Sighing, I sit down on the couch and grab one of the wine glasses off the tray and take an extra large sip. Mom’s sitting, acting casual, but I know she’s waiting for me to tell her whatever is going on. “I think maybe I met someone.”

The room goes quiet. I swear the TV even gets lower with my announcement. My sister and brother-in-law are staring at me with their mouths gaping open. Mom’s eyes are wide, and her wine glass is frozen halfway to her lips. I don’t get the shock. Sure, it’s been a while, but is it really that surprising?

“Why are you all staring like that? You’d think I just told you I murdered someone,” I grumble.

“Alex,” my sister admonishes, her head jerking toward her daughters. Oh, oops. But luckily for me, they seem completely distracted, so at least that’s two less people who are about to interrogate me.

“And sorry for staring. I just wasn’t expecting that,” my brother-in-law, Nick, says.

I roll my eyes. I look over to Mom, who still hasn’t moved. “Mom, are you ok?”

Mom blinks and it seems like she resurfaces. “Sorry, honey. So tell me about this mystery man, because it was only a few days ago you told me there was no one,” she says, suspicious.

“Yeah, well, I actually met him that night.”

I tell them the very condensed and censored version of the last few days. My mom is elated and asking a thousand questions. My sister has her eyes narrowed at me. I know she can tell I’m not telling her the whole story. Her expression promises me she’s gonna corner me later. I just grin at her.

Eventually, the subject moves away from Zach. We all eat dinner and I help the kids wrap the gifts they made for their parents and my mom. It’s getting late and I still haven’t heard from Zach. I know I asked him to call me, but I want to see him. I don’t think I can go an entire week without seeing that gorgeous face.

Once everyone retires for the night, I go and take a quick shower before heading to the guest room. My mind is still buzzing with the texts earlier from Zach. Even in his awkwardly-fitted dress clothes, he does something to me. I give my dick a little extra attention when showering, but I don’t get off. I really hope I’ll get a chance to do it with Zach on the phone.

Once I’m out of the shower, I go back to the guest room and slip on some boxers before texting Zach.

Hey, lamb. Are you busy? I’d like to video chat before bed if you can.

It takes a while for him to respond. I see the little three dots appear and then disappear . . . and then appear again. Fucking A, what is he doing?

My heart is pounding a mile a minute. Can he answer already? Even if it’s to tell me to fuck off, it’s better than this.

Finally the dots appear again and I get a message.

Lamb: Yes, I’d like that. Can I call you in twenty minutes? I’m just finishing up a movie with my cousin.

It’s the longest twenty minutes of my life, and I debate back and forth on just jacking off anyway and hoping for a second wind once I see Zach. Before I settle on a decision, my phone lights up with a video message request from Zach. Fucking finally. I can’t press the accept button fast enough.

Zach’s face fills my phone, and I can’t help the smile that forms on my face as a sense of peace fills me. Just seeing him, even through a phone screen, eases some of the tension that has been building inside of me. Fucking weird, right? And of course, it also makes me even hornier than I already was.

Zach smiles at me excitedly. “Hi, Alex!”

I lie back on the pillow and tilt my phone up so Zach can see I’m not wearing much. His breath catches. “Hi, baby. How are you doing? How’s your parents’ house?”

Zach blinks, his focus completely on my bare torso. Amused, I clear my throat after a few seconds of silence. Zach jumps and shakes his head, clearing the fog.

“Oops, sorry. What was the question?”
