Reluctantly, my hands slide out from beneath Angie’s skirt. Probably a good thing. I had a plan, damn it! And that plan didn’t involve fucking her on my desk. I reach up, stroking her cheek as I press my forehead against hers, blowing out a breath.

Angela

“Fuck, Angie. I’ve missed you.” Tim’s eyes burn into mine, and I swallow roughly. I shed so many tears over him when I left England, and now he’s here. Right in front of me. Wanting me.

“I love you, Angie,” he breathes, his hands cupping my jaw again and my breath catches. I’m scared to believe what I’m hearing. “I’m an idiot for not saying it before you left England. I love you so much.”

As he presses kisses all over my face, Tim’s breath caresses me. “I can’t live without you. I can’t.”

My heart clenches painfully in my chest. I’ve dreamed so many times of hearing Tim say that, and now he finally is. Tim’s forehead is pressed against my shoulder, and he’s still murmuring that he loves me. That he missed me. Swallowing, I lift my hand to stroke the back of his neck. At least I will not be taking the leap first. I’m just diving after him.

“I love you too, Tim.”

His head pops up, naked hope etched on his face.

“Angie.” He reaches out to stroke my hair back from my face and tucks it behind my ear. My heart clenches at the familiar gesture. He did it so many times back in England. “Can I come to your room tonight?”

I almost giggle with relief. “Yes.”

Tim’s face lights up, triumphant and ecstatic. He tugs me to him, hugging me so tightly that it feels like my bones are about to crack as he buries his face in my hair.

We stay that way until there is a knock at the door. Tim steps away, lifting me off the desk as I smooth my hair and hurry over to the window, admiring the view of San Diego as the door opens and Tim’s secretary ushers Uncle Bill into the room.

“Uncle Bill,” Tim greets him, moving across the room to shake his hand.

“Everything looks good, Tim.”

I keep my eyes fixed through the window. Everything looks even more beautiful now that I’m walking on a cloud.

“Angie?” Bill prompts me. Shit. That’s my cue. I’m not here to stare out a window, feeling like I can fly. I do have a real job.

I turn around, hoping my eyes aren’t too bright. That my cheeks aren’t too flushed.

“Are you impressed with everything that you’ve seen so far today?” Bill continues, and now IknowI’m blushing a little.

“Very impressive,” I murmur, catching the smirk Tim is biting back. Bill beams at me, clapping Tim on the shoulder.

“I think it’s time for lunch. Do you have somewhere in mind, Tim?”

He tears his eyes away from me to grin at his uncle. “I know the perfect place.”

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Angela

There is a knock on the door of my hotel room. Tim? My breath catches as I move across to it, peeking through and quickly opening it as Tim stands there, looking effortlessly handsome, dressed in his suit from today, without the tie, and smiles at me.

“Hey,” he murmurs as I stand back to let him in. Closing the door behind him, Tim’s smile widens to a grin as he reaches out, grabbing my waist and pulling me to him.

“Still love me?” he asks, sound half-serious, half-teasing. Um, yes.

“Yes,” I breathe. He kisses me, his hands sliding down to grab my ass, and move to the back of my thighs.

He lifts me up and presses me against the wall, my legs wrapping around his waist. Tim doesn’t break the kiss, gripping my jaw with one hand while his other moves to fumble with his belt and fly. I’m panting with desire as he shoves my panties aside and thrusts into me.

I whimper as Tim fills me, wrapping my arms around his neck. I thought I would never feel this again. It’s even better than I remember.

“Fuck, I’ve missed this Angie,” Tim groans as he presses me harder into the wall as he thrusts eagerly. “Missed you.”
