“You are so beautiful,” he breathes as he meets my gaze.

I laugh, feeling warm all over again. “I’m just wearing jeans and a hoodie, not a dress.”

“You could be wearing a trash bag, and you’d still be the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

I close the distance and link my arm with his. “You’re not so bad yourself.”

“Mmmm, yeah, but I have competition, and I know how sexy Saint and Austin are.” He leads out of the apartment, locking it behind us, and to the elevator.

“The three of you combined are nothing short of gorgeous. They splashed you guys all over newspapers and magazines as the most eligible pack for a reason. It has nothing to do with your money.”

He chuckles as the elevator comes to a stop on the first floor. “Maybe a little something to do with our money,” he says, holding his fingers an inch apart after sliding the metal grate to the side to let us out. “Not that we would ever look for a different omega. You are it for us, sweetheart.”

“Good, because you’re stuck with me,” I say, bumping his shoulder as we walk across the lobby.

If there are other people watching our exchange, I hardly see them. None of them really matter. The walk to the park is peaceful, and the streets only start to get busy when we get closer. We picked up our picnic from the diner Felix loves, basket and all, and then found a spot in the park to lay out the checkered blanket.

It is the stuff movies are made of. A romantic picnic in central park, the bustling city just moments away. Kids playing, people flying kites, couples flirting, and families enjoying the day. The perfect sort of adventure.

I lean back on the blanket, taking it all in while Felix sorts out the contents of the basket. “She went above and beyond for us,” he says. “Chocolate covered strawberries and everything.”

“Do they serve chocolate covered strawberries at the diner?”

“I don’t think so.”

“That waitress is just in love with you,” I say.

He huffs out a laugh. “That waitress is in love with Vinny. But Vinny is clueless.”

“Oh, I see. If she sugars you up, she has a better chance,” I laugh.

He blows a raspberry at me. “Vinny is his own man. He can figure it out himself, just like Austin did with you. Now, let me feed you strawberries,” he says, holding one out for me to take a bite of.

His gaze fixes hungrily on my mouth as I take another bite. He purrs his pure alpha sound as his musk fills our space.

“Mmm, you are going to tease the shit out of me.”

A laugh pops from my lips. “Me?” I raise my eyebrows. “I haven’t even tried to tease you yet.”

“Here, try some cheese,” he holds the cube between his fingers, and I swipe my tongue over his thumb as I take it from him.

He groans, his eyes rolling back, and shifts his weight, adjusting himself at the same time. “Fuck, that was sexy. Do it again.”

I repeat the motion when he holds another cube of cheddar out.

He leans forward and captures my lips in a claiming kiss that lights up my blood and makes me forget where we are. His fingers dive into my hair, and he cradles the back of my neck as he explores my mouth with his tongue. I whimper and press closer. Damn. Fuck the consequences and public indecency laws, because I need this man.

“Felix James Parker!” A shrill voice breaks us apart and leaves me gasping for air. “What are you doing? Some harlot offers herself, and you just disgrace your family by taking her in the middle of Central Park! As if being a beta wasn’t bad enough.”

I swallow as my heart beats fast for a completely different reason than what we were doing moments ago. My gaze settles on an older woman with an equally older man. They are both scowling at Felix like he is nothing but the dirt on their shoe, and I growl as I quickly get to my feet.

“Who the fuck do you think you are?” I demand, placing myself between him and whoever these people were. Assholes for sure, and someone he’d rather not see if the way his face paled meant anything.

“Are you that omega whore that has wormed her way in with his pack?” the lady sneers. “At least he had the pack, but now you are moving in, trying to steal that from him. You are such a disgrace, Felix.”

I step closer, getting into her face and blocking her view of him completely. “You are not allowed to talk to him, and if you don’t back off and leave us alone, you will regret it.”

The man rakes me with a disgusted look. “You have an omega standing up for you, son?”
