“Everyone is family here,” Daisy said. “And you know as well as I do that there is a huge markup.”

“Rose knew you’d argue so I’m here to push you,” Jasmine said.

Ivy turned her head to see her sister had come into the room. “Really?”

“Yes,” Jasmine said. “Don’t think of it as charity. Think of it as friends trying to get your life back to where it was.”

She blinked back the tears. “I’m going to ruin my makeup.”

Daisy laughed. “You’ll fix it. Seriously. I know some of the pieces you had.” Daisy was pulling out trays. “I can just replace them, but if you want something different, do it.”

“I’m going to watch,” Jasmine said. “I know what she had too, so I’ll know if she’s fibbing.”

“I wouldn’t do that,” she said. How dare her sister make that comment? She wouldn’t take advantage of this and take more than what she’d lost.

Jasmine rubbed her hand on Ivy’s arm. “I mean fibbing and not taking what you had but getting less. I’m getting a few pieces for Dahlia too. She won’t come down and do it, so I’m taking it out of her hands. I think I know what she had.”

“Not much,” she said.

Dahlia had only been here a few months and not enough time to get the pieces that they all got a few times a year. Most of Dahlia’s had been gifts from Jasmine and Ivy.

Her bosses were so generous with their staff. Giving them free lotions and candles or shampoos monthly. Then jewelry and accessories were a few times a year, a monetary amount if they didn’t want the pieces that were offered. Normally new pieces were on the lower end, but the “pimp the product” slogan was always pushed with staff.

The three of them went through the pieces. She recouped what had been stolen and thanked Daisy. She’d thank Poppy and Lily in person but shot off a quick text to Rose saying how much she loved her and appreciated everything they did.

“Now that that is settled, let’s get down to work,” Daisy said. Jasmine had left to go back to the flower shop.

They went through where the orders stood, what needed to be ordered and anything else that had happened or was planned for the week that Rose would do and Daisy shouldn’t or couldn’t. Most things Daisy was handling, but Ivy’s job was to be the go-between of the three divisions of the business now too.

When she was done with Daisy, she moved over to see Poppy in her office and on her computer.

“Knock, knock,” she said.

Poppy had the same reaction as Daisy and rushed her for a hug.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry you and Dahlia had to go through that. I’d be so scared.”

“I was,” she said. “I still kind of am.”

“Don’t let anyone tell you not to be either,” Poppy said firmly.

This was what she loved about this one sister. She could be herself more and not be judged around Poppy.

She knew it was because many thought she and Poppy were the most similar in personalities.

That they were always looking for someone to take care of them.

Usually a man in her life.

“I’m trying,” she said. “On one hand I want to crawl in a hole and let someone else take care of it. On the other, I know I need to do it.”

“It’s hard to grow up, but we all do it,” Poppy said.

She sighed. “We do.” She moved to the door and shut it. “Can I tell you something?”

“Of course,” Poppy said.

“The investigator was so hot.”
