I held up my hands. “I’m not looking for a fight, Yarder. I just want to do the best for the club.”

Yarder tipped his head to the side. “Well, you’re in luck then because that is exactly what I am trying to do. Aero takes Sloane. Cue Ball takes Olive. You take Dove. Fade takes Faye.”

“No!” Fade shouted. “Do not fucking make me be on watch for Faye. Things are fucking weird between us, and I don’t know how to act around her.”

“Figure it the fuck out,” Yarder growled. “So let me repeat myself for those of you who think they can tell me what they are going to do. Aero on Sloane, Cue on Olive, Throttle on Dove, and Fade on Faye. Did I make myself clear?”

“Crystal,” I mumbled.

Yarder turned to Compass. “I know you said your cousin and the Bone Hawks don’t know what the fuck is going on, but I want you to talk to them. There has to be talk somewhere about us.”

Compass nodded. “I will head up there after church.”

“Take Smoke with you.”

“Fuck yeah,” Smoke cheered. “Thank fuck I didn’t get assigned one of the chicks.”

“Spend all of my time with Sloane, or go to Oklahoma with Compass?” Aero laughed. He weighed his hands up and down. “I think you got the short end of the stick, brother.”

“I’m sure Throttle and I disagree,” Fade grumbled.

“Speak for yourself,” I muttered. “I at least haven’t pissed Dove off to the point where she won’t even talk to me.”

“Give it time,” Smoke muttered.

“What the hell was I supposed to do?” Fade shouted. “The chick claims to like me, but all she fucking talked about was her ex. Talk about some fucked up signals, man. I want an ol’ lady, but not one who is going to play fucking mind games with me all of the time.”

“Whoa,” Dice whispered. “Did this just turn into Dr. Phil?”

“Fucking hell,” Yarder muttered. “Pirate takes Faye and Fade just figure your shit out, brother.” Yarder ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. “I do feel like Dr. Phil now.”

“Thank fuck,” Fade sighed.

“Well, that’s some bullshit,” Pirate grumbled.

“What are you going to do?” I asked.

“Act like the fucking world isn’t out to get us while a camera crew follows me around.” He swept his finger around the room. “And that is what all of you are going to do, too. We spin this shit of the car hitting the building as a drunk driver and move on from it.”

“It’s not like all of the cameras in the clubhouse didn’t record that there wasn’t anyone in the car,” I muttered.

“Just let me figure out that end of things. We have it in our contracts that we do have say of what we want aired for all of the world.”

Compass clicked his tongue. “I think you’re going to have one hell of a fight on your hands because a car crashing into the clubhouse is damn entertaining. Scrubbing that from the show might be a tough sell.”

“I will handle it,” Yarder growled. “Just fucking do what I told you to do, and keep your eyes open to everything going on around you. Whoever walks into the shop, look at them twice. If anyone walks past the clubhouse or drives by too slow, fucking find out why. I am done being on the receiving end of this shit. The next time whoever this is decides to fuck with us, we are going to be ready.”

I thought that was what we had been doing all along, but apparently, we needed to kick it up a few notches.

“The camera crew has off today but will be back tomorrow. Let’s all work together to get the corner of the clubhouse fixed,” Yarder ordered.

“Throttle and I are headed to Texarkana for Sloane and Dove to pack a bag,” Aero pointed out, “but once we are back, we can help with the wall.”

Yarder nodded. “Get it done, and get back here. I know a car just crashed into the clubhouse, but this is the safest place for everyone to be.”

I had never seen Yarder like this before.

Something was out there, ready to pounce on the Iron Fiends again, and we were all blind to it.
