She pursed her lips and looked down at me while she listened.

I reached up to touch her boob, but she swatted my hand away. “Stop it,” she hissed.

I propped my arms behind my head and smiled.

“No, I was talking to Throttle. Just get me a breakfast sandwich.” She put the speakerphone on and held the phone between us. “What do you want for breakfast? The only place they can find food is at the gas station across the street.”

“Coffee,” I grunted. And hopefully enough time to go another round with Dove.

“He said coffee, but you should probably get him some substance. I think he needs it.”

Now that was bold.

I had told her if she and I happened, it was going to happen again, but I didn’t know she was going to put it out there right away.

I was into it.

“Take your time coming back,” I called.

Dove’s mouth dropped open, and her eyes bugged out. “Throttle,” Dove gasped.

“Wait, wait,” Sloane gasped. “Did you guys… are you…” The phone was muffled. “I think Dove and Throttle had sex.”

“Hell yeah,” Aero cheered. “We’ll take the long way back to the motel, brother,” he called.

“Dove Emery Finley. You and I are going to have a long talk when we get back to the room,” Sloane scolded. “I didn’t even know you liked Throttle.”

I grabbed Dove around the waist and pulled her in for a kiss. “Say goodbye to your friend. I think we need to make sure we actually like each other.”

“Oh my god! I’m hanging up now, and we will be back in twenty minutes,” Sloane warned.

I grabbed the phone. “Make it thirty.” I ended the call and tossed it on the nightstand.

“Throttle,” Dove laughed. “We just told Sloane and Aero we had sex.”

I pulled her on top of me, and she straddled my waist. “Yeah, sure did. I figure we could just skip over the awkwardness of wanting to rip each other's clothes off all the time but have to act like we don’t like each other in front of everyone and just tell them.”

“We could have just told them we liked each other.”

I pressed a kiss to her lips. “And we’re having sex.” I then pressed a hot, searing kiss to her lips. “Right now.”

“Right now?” she giggled.

I nodded and rolled her onto her back. “Right now.”

Chapter Sixteen

Dove

“Am I the only one completely confused and surprised?”

Adalee nodded. “Um, you are not alone.” Her pen was poised over her clipboard. “I need to gather my thoughts.”

“How about we get on the road, and you can work on gathering them while we drive to Golden?” I suggested.

“That’s exactly what you looked like at the gas station earlier,” Aero chuckled. “Sloane’s jaw hit the floor, and she dropped her breakfast sandwich.”
