“Wow!” Alessia felt the warmth stealing over her as she pressed a hand to her mouth. Should I apologize for my husband’s enthusiasm?”
“Why would you?” With a laugh, Joseph took her hands. “He loves you and for that I’m extremely grateful.”

The journey had been uneventful, with her husband teasing her she’d slept the entire plane ride.
“I felt like I was alone the entire time.”
“I’m a pregnant woman.” She told him loftily. “I happen to have been going through some trauma and I was just married.”
“Excuses, excuses.” He said with a shake of his head.
Now, they were in bed after being greeted by Giulia and her husband had greeted them with a late-night refreshment of fruit and some pastries as well as a bottle of Pina Fiore.
“Why did you bring that up?” His fingers were tangled through hers, turning her hand around, he gazed at the dazzling square cut diamond and rubies of her wedding ring.
“Something my Dad said after you left us. You love me.” She murmured dreamily. “You’re absolutely soft on me.”
He pretended to glower at her and made her laugh.
“Think that means you can twist me around your little finger?”
“It means, darling that I know you’re completely in love with me. It means I’m the luckiest woman in the entire world.”
They were naked and he’d wanted to jump her as soon as they finished the meal, but was savoring the fact she was his wife and was naked in bed with her. The last time he was here, he’d been angry and depressed, but now she was here with him and the feeling was completely different.
“It means you’re mine, all mine.” Tears glinted in her dark brown eyes that he secretly compares to liquid chocolate.
“And you belong to me.” He trailed a finger down her cheek and captured a tear that had escaped. “Hormones?” He asked her teasingly.
“Absolutely.” She sniffed. “I love you. I walked into that chapel and the only person I saw was you, standing there, tall and handsome, and I felt my heart bursting with love and pride.”
“It must be contagious.” He said huskily. “I only saw you.”
“Make love to me, my husband.”
“You said the magic word.”

His hands moved over her slowly, sending the heat blossoming inside her body.
"If you’re gentle with me, I’m going to hurt you." She warned.
"Duly noted. I won’t hold back and will be sure to leave marks on your skin."
"Just what I need. Animal sex."
He gave her an amused look and felt his heart spiking inside his chest. He loved her lack of guile and the fact that she didn’t have to pretend with him. In the past with the women he’d been with, he’d seen through them from the beginning.
They’d pretend to be someone they were not, or who they thought he wanted them to be. Not Alessia, not his wife. Even as the word filtered into his brain, he felt a powerful charge of lust and love combined.
"Animal sex it is." He whispered thickly. Her bump was slight, just a gentle curving of her stomach. His baby was there, nestled inside her womb, and that gave him another surge.
“Let me show you how much I appreciate you.”
“I’d love that." Her breathing increased and she automatically arched her back as he started kissing her long and delicate throat.
