“Hmm.” Closing his eyes, he took several deep breaths. “That’s one word for it.”

Lifting her head, she propped her chin on her hand and gazed at him. His eyes looked heavy and there was a soft expression around his lips. Several strands of hair were clinging to his forehead, giving him an endearing look that tugged at her heart.

“What?”

“You’re cute.”

A startled laugh escaped him, hazel eyes twinkling. “That’s a first.”

She smiled whimsically, admiring the creases against his eyes, the whiteness of his teeth against his sensuous lips. “The first thing I noticed about you was your hair.”

“Oh?”

She nodded. “The thickness of it and the effort you put in to try and get rid of the curls.”

He gave her a quizzical look. “You noticed all of that and presumed that was what I did?”

“Yep.”

“Interesting. Want me to tell you what caught my eye when I first saw you?”

“My dress?” She asked laughingly. It was easy talking with him. Even from the first time she’d met him, despite the heat and sexuality smoldering between them, there’d been an ease that had struck her as odd and surprising.

“That too. You were wearing a cute little gold dress and this prick was touching you a hell of a lot. I wanted to break his arms.”

“That’s why you were angry when you cornered me as I was coming back from the ladies’ room.”

He touched the tip of her nose. “I didn’t want to feel the way I did but it was too strong. My heart was racing and my body was hot.” His eyes darkened and his expression turned from laughing to intense. He drew in a harsh breath as he hauled her on top of him. His hands framed her face. “I can’t promise I’ll be gentle.”

“I don’t want gentle.”

“I don’t want to hurt you.” His hands moved down to cup her butt.

“You won’t. Stop worrying.”

“It’s my job.” He moved up to the small of her back. “You’re still a little bony,” He winced and grinned at her when she elbowed him in the ribs. “Just saying.”

“Shut up and kiss me.”

“Shutting up.” Bringing her head down, he ravished her lips as he eased her up to straddle him. “Tell me if I’m hurting you.”

Instead of answering, she ground her hips, forcing him to drive into her.

“I could live here.” She murmured, lifting her head to sniff the bracing air. “It’s so quiet and beautiful. And that cooking class- “

“Don’t tell me it’s turned you into an expert?” He teased wrapping his arms around her waist.

“Not quite, but I believe that was the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Italy several times.” She turned her head to look at him. “You enjoyed it?”

“I enjoy you.” Bending, he kissed her slowly, firing her senses. They’d done several tours, visited the local market, and stopped off for lunch. There’d been a wine tasting event and she’d indulged in a small glass. “Want to stay in for supper?”

“Yes. I’m feeling a little tired.”

He turned her to face him immediately, a concerned look on his face. “You okay?”

“I’m fine. Just-“ Leaning into him, she stifled a yawn. “I think a nap is in order.”
