“Thank you.” He told her hoarsely, eyes moist with tears.

“You’re more than welcome.” She told him softly.

“Are you going to put her down?”

“In a minute.” Shifting Mark a little as the boy reached for his sister’s tiny fist, he came and sat on the bed. “Tired?”

“A little bit.” They both looked up when her Dad came into the room.

“I’m here to relieve you of this little one.”

Mark chortled in delight as his grandfather plucked him out of his Daddy’s arms.

They’d finally moved into the manor completely, much to Joseph’s delight and he and his son-in-law were getting along famously. Maxwell was even on the board of the company and had made some very valuable contributions.

“He’s so happy.” Alessia watched as her husband placed their baby girl inside her cot and pulled the sheets over her.

“He’s not the only one.” Taking another look at his daughter, he came and joined her in bed. “Words can’t express how I feel.” He was afraid he was going to choke on the emotion surging through his body. “I adore you, darling. Thank you.”

“I adore you back and you’re welcome.” She whispered as she snuggled against him.
