‘Let me know if you do.’

“Something up?” A voice asked pulling my attention away from my phone.

I looked up and fire ripped through me.

“I’m fine,” I told Sey who was standing above me half-dressed after a shower.

I shoved my phone into my bag and started taking off my football gear.

“It just looks like you lost something. Lose something there, Titus?” he asked smugly.

That’s when it hit me. “You did something to him. If you hurt him…”

I got up, shot across the room, and grabbed him. He was ready for me, but that didn’t mean much. I was bigger and strong than him.

What surprised me was how much he fought back when we both knew he didn’t have a chance. By the time teammates pulled me off of him, I had pounded him pretty good. That still hadn’t stopped him. He was a man possessed. That was fine with me, though, because I wasn’t done.

“I’ll kill you. You hear me? Hurt him and I’ll kill you.”

A crowd had gathered.

“Hurt him? The man I love?” Sey said not backing down.

“You don’t know what love is! He doesn’t love you.”

“And yet, he’s agreed to spend the rest of his life with me. What, you thought you could sneak in and take him from me? I LOVE him! You hear me? You think you can sneak in and take him away from me, his fiancé? You will never have him.”

“Is that true?” One of my teammates asked. He was one of the guys who sang when Sey had proposed.

“Not cool,” another guy said.

I looked at them both.

“You all don’t get it. I love him, and he loves me.” I pointed at Sey. “He was meeting to breakup with him and this one did something to him.”

“You can’t snake a teammate’s girl, even if it’s a guy,” another teammate said.

“You should get out of here, Titus. Take a walk,” the first guy said.

I looked at everyone surrounding me.

“You don’t understand. We love each other. I’ve loved him from the moment I met him.”

“Take a walk, Titus!” The guy demanded.

I was willing to fight the whole team for him if I had to. But I knew that wasn’t going to help me figure out what was going on with Lou. Instead, I ripped off my shoulder pads, threw them into my locker, and grabbed my bag.

Knowing where I needed to go, I headed across campus to Lou’s dorm. I had to see him. Something was going on and I needed to talk to him. I had to know he was alright.

Slipping into the building as someone exited, I bounded the stairs two at a time. In front of his door, I banged on it.

“Lou, this is Titus. Are you alright? I need to know if you’re alright. Lou!” I shouted before the door opened.

“Quin? Lou here? I need to see him,” I said desperately.

“He’s here,” he said blocking the door.

“Quin, what’s going on?”
