“I would expect nothing less,” Armand said with all of the charm in the world. “And know that if I do decide to change the parameters of our arrangement, you would be the first person to know,” he said pointing his gun at Remy and pretending to shoot.

My brother didn’t appreciate that but luckily, he decided to let it go.

“Release my brother,” he demanded.

Armand signaled for his two henchmen to holster their pistols and release me from the chair. As soon as I was free, I ran to Cali, who had been struggling to get to his feet.

“For Christ’s sake, will you stop dripping blood on my carpet!” the bastard said before leaving us and disappearing into one of the side rooms.

Throwing my arms around Cali as he balanced erect on one foot, I never wanted to let him go.

“I love you. I’m sorry,” I kept repeating. “I can’t believe this happened to you because of me.”

“I’m willing to go through this and more to be with you. I have no life without you. When I found you, I found the other half of my heart. I will never let you go again,” he said until I stopped him with a kiss.

Fireworks couldn’t outshine the majesty of our kiss. I lost myself in the moment. My thoughts swirled as if it were warm caramel wrapped around his chocolate. I could have stood there holding him forever if I hadn’t heard,

“Now you’re just rubbing it in,” Remy said, drawing me back to earth. “How about we get out of here so you can keep all of that behind closed doors?”

Still holding Cali, I looked back at my brother. He had that devilish smirk on his face. I couldn’t tell if he was trying to be an asshole or sweet. But he was right, we did have to get out of here. So, helping Cali up, I stepped under his arm to take his weight.

When Cali struggled, Remy rolled his eyes and said, “Fine.” And then he displaced me and wrapped my boyfriend’s arms around his shoulder. It was Remy who helped Cali out. I could barely express what I felt seeing it.

This was my family, and I was so grateful for it. Remy never liked anyone. So for him to treat my guy like this was beyond my wildest dreams.

Opening the elevator, and later the door to the building, I led two of my three favorite guys out.

“Are we going to Dillon’s place? He got hit pretty good fighting the guy who took me. Is he all right?”

“He’s fine,” Remy replied quickly. “He’s quite the scrapper. Who knew he had that in him?”

“I did. You just don’t know because you haven’t been paying attention.”

“Maybe I need to rectify that.”

I turned to my brother, scanning his face for what he meant by that. The last thing I wanted was for my womanizing brother to hurt my gay best friend. I knew Dillon had a crush on him. I guess I could see why. My brother was pretty great. But he was also extremely straight.

But Dillon was a lot of things, a good judge of character wasn’t one of them. He made the worst choices when it came to men. What was his obsession with straight guys?

“Don’t play with his heart,” I said sternly.

“Hil, I thought you knew me better than that.”

“I do know you. That’s why I said it,” I told him, not liking the look on his face.

Putting that aside, we helped Cali into Remy’s car. Applying pressure to his wound, we drove back to my family’s penthouse. We had a medic on staff to take care of stuff this because, of course we did. And he was waiting for us when Remy and I helped Cali out of our elevator and into my room.

“So, this is where you grew up?” Cali asked, scanning the embarrassing posters on my walls.

“If I knew you were coming, I might have moved a few things around,” I said hiding my humiliation.

“No, it’s good that I’ve seen the half-naked men plastering your walls. Now I never have to question if you’re gay,” he said teasing me. “If you had those posters with the lilies, I might have worried.”

I chuckled.

Having had his wound dressed and been put on painkillers, I knew he was mine for the night. I had to take off his pants for the doctor. So now there was a hot, half-naked man lying in my bed. Considering how many times I looked at my walls fantasizing about exactly this as a kid, I could barely tell if I was dreaming.

When I cuddled up next to him and gently rolled my fingertips over his rippling muscles, I knew that I wasn’t. When my hand found his hardening cock, I realized how much better reality was than a dream. As I gently squeezed it, I looked up into his eyes. Squeezing it harder and gently stroking him, he closed his eyes and lifted his chin.
