A clipboard in my hand, I asked Legend and Lynx to follow me outside. “I want you to see my ideas.”

Besides club girls who were in and out, I was the only woman who was going to live, permanently, with all these men, hence me being seen as an intruder. Yes, they loved their VP. But having to behave—not be as crude about sex talk because of what I had been through—in their special place? I couldn’t get Lynx to budge on this one, so I decided to find a way to give back to his brothers.

At the door, both men stopped. Legend glared at me.

Lynx snarled, “When the fuck were you outside?”

The two had been so busy catching up on missed club business that I kept myself busy with redesigning plans. “Yesterday. Why?” Lynx opened his mouth to bitch at me, but I cut him off. “Hey!” I growled, “You said escort. I had five.”

He lifted a hand to try again, but I wasn’t having it.

“Plus Vice. Nope! I didn’t break any rules.”

Tapping my toes that loved their new sneakers—something I’d never worn yet possibly the most comfortable shoe ever—I waited for his reply.

Legend, being a smart leader, put his hands behind his back and took a tentative step away.

Lynx barked at him, “The fuck, you pussy?”

He shrugged. “This wolf knows when to admit he was wrong.”

Cautiously, my Old Man dared to look at me. Then he tried, “Babe, have I told you how beautiful you look today—”

“Lynx!” I stomped my foot. “Stop acting the maggot!”

Legend leaned forward to tell his son, “I don’t think that is a good thing.”

Outside, with an army of men, I pointed to the front of where we lived. It was a large, rundown, brick building. “Whoever chose this place was smart. Great bones.” I was surprised and glad that many of the men joined us. It could speed up my plan…

Dagger patted Legend’s back. “That would be Charmain Bryant.”

I grabbed my chest, asking Lynx, “Your mammy?”

He smiled.

Taking a deep breath, loving to learn more about her, I faced the building again. “Security wise, she wanted you safe. Bricks and bullets got me thinking of the wall’s purpose- like a fort. Protection.” By Legend’s reaction, I knew I was onto something, so I added, “I can’t help but think of adding protection the way you guys keep expecting cartel to be waiting for you outside.” Hoping they liked my concept, I said, “Not wanting to cover any memories that I just learned about, what if we preserve them by adding a coat of stucco on the bricks—” As soon as Legend’s mouth opened, I begged, “Hear me out. An aged ivory color to try to keep the older feel but not show—” I giggled, “how big the dicks are inside.”

Men cheered all around me.

Legend lost his sadness and laughed. “That’s right, Precious. Don’t want people to know what we’re hiding inside.” He glanced around. “Tell me more. I’m liking your idea so far.”

I stepped back, which had men shifting. Holding up my clipboard, I channeled Kelly, using my hands in the air to help Stallions see my vision. “We add brick walls, but no more doors. I’m thinking arches around a little courtyard. That way, when anyone steps outside, there is extra coverage to duck behind, if needed.” I quietly added, “Hopefully not.”

Legend was no longer observing the building. He was eyeing me. “More.”

Feeling confidence build, I got excited. “Great. Okay.” I walked over to the right side of the building, across the massive gravel driveway, and to an expansive part of the property where there was a pile of junk but no structures. “I know this all takes money, more than my budget, but if you see the ultimate goal, and you like it, I can start getting us there. Little by little.” Behind me, I pointed back to the left part of the main building. “I know you park bikes in the huge garage, but with so many motorcycles to contend with, it feels like a jigsaw puzzle in there.”

Men chuckled because they knew I was right.

“So,” I pointed back to the land with all the junk. “Clear all this out and build a warehouse, but made out of bricks, or at least stack bricks on the inside of the metal—again being secretive of all security measures. I’m thinking the warehouse should be long.” Bashfully, I smiled, “Like the motels we stayed at. Including all the doors.” Back to my vision, I had my hands and clipboard in the air again. “Except, instead of regular doors, how about sliding doors big enough for several bikes to pull in, in case you’re in a hurry. Then, over the whole front of the warehouse, a large overhang in case any buddies want to work on their bikes outside yet stay protected from the elements.”

I checked to see if I was holding anyone’s attention, only to see they were all captivated.

Legend told me, “More.”

“Oh my gosh, I’m so excited you like these ideas.”

I guided them all to the back of the building, explaining how the broken lawn chairs and sad looking fire-hole in the ground could become a great place for barbecues. “And not just for you guys to hang out and eat, but to make it a tad more welcoming for any girlfriends or even families. Maybe we could get more to stick around if the place didn’t look like, well…”
