I ended the call and was about to reach out to Jhorie when another call came through. I had expected she would hit me up sooner or later.
“Niama, how are you?”
“I’m great. How was your tour?”
“Decent. She enjoyed herself but I owe her a real one when you can fit it on your schedule.”
“I didn’t think it was about the tasting or the tour or I would have set you up with a staff member to make sure she got the full experience.”
“It wasn’t but she was intrigued so I think she would enjoy the full treatment.”
“You know we have cameras in all the cellars, right, Ezekiel?”
I tensed briefly. The damage was done so it was too late to be concerned. I could only do damage control for what I might have exposed us to. “No, I didn’t. I trust our time there will remain private?”
“It will. I made sure the cameras were off.”
“You did?”
“I did. You brought a woman to my vineyard and winery. There was an ulterior motive. I put precautions in place which is why…”
“You made sure we had the Vintage Suite.”
“Yep, but that’s not why I called.”
“What do you need?”
“I’m considering putting a hotel on my property. Nothing major, more of a B&B but that means…”
“Permits and possibly more land.”
“Yes. There might not be an issue. However, I’m aware everything goes through you so…”
“You don’t have to ask or be concerned, Niama. I’ll make sure you have what you need if you decide to go that route.”

“You’re welcome.”
“Send me her address and I’ll make sure she has some of her favorites.”
“You don’t need to repay me.”
“Ezekiel...”
I smirked and brushed a hand over my mouth. “I’ll put you two in touch. She wanted to extend her thanks for allowing us access and you have the address already. Send whatever you want, she will be grateful. Her favorite is the port.”
“I have the address?” I heard the amusement in her voice.
“Yes, mine.”
