He smirked.

“I just saved you from getting robbed.”

“Thank you.”

He smiled wider.

“Did I do something to you that I’m unaware of?”

Yes. You had your assistant call me.

You ruined my self-induced orgasms.

And you smell divine and look yummy.

“No, I’m busy. Did your assistant not deliver my message that I would get back to you when I wasn’t busy?”

“She did—”

“And how do you know where I live?”

“You told me.”

“I didn’t tell you the building or unit.”

He pointed to my car and I frowned.

“Same car from the night we—”

“There was no night. Didn’t exist. Never happened, right?”

But it had and I couldn’t get it or him out of my head.

“It happened but we don’t have to revisit or acknowledge anything beyond that. We do, however, have to work together which is why I’m here. May I come in?”

“No, I told your assistant I was busy and I would let her know—”

“What if I promise that moving forward I will personally contact you when I want you to make time for me?”

I froze and spun on my heels to face him. His expression was impassive but I felt the smugness pulsing around him.

“You personally calling won't change if and when I’m too busy to make time for you, Omari.”

“No, it won’t but you mentioned twice, in a very annoyed tone, that my assistant reached out. My takeaway is you would prefer I be the one to do so in the future. Noted. I’m an observant man.”

How the hell had he read me so easily?

Well maybe because he’d spent hours being very intimate with my body and my reactions to the things he’d done to my body.

“Please don’t be that guy.”

He arched a brow while exposing the slight tilt of his lips. Those very skilled lips. “What guy?”

“The one who assumes because he’s sexy, wealthy, andyouthat all women will fall at his feet just to please or gain his attention.”

He edged closer. So close that I could smell his woodsy, citrusy scent and feel his presence even more profoundly.

“You don’t want my attention, Jhorie?”
