My brain served me up some images of Macy after she’d been knocked off her bike. Grazed and shaken. My gut churned. The thought of her hurt was unacceptable.
The next image was Macy on her desk, looking at me with lips swollen from my kiss.
My jaw tightened.Dammit.
“Hmm, looks like a man with a problem.”
Kav’s amused voice made me stiffen.
“Woman trouble,” Beau said. “Only woman trouble would send him here in the middle of the day to destroy one of my punching bags.”
“Don’t you two have better things to do.” I glanced at them over my shoulder.
Beau crossed his brawny arms. “This is my gym. Checking in with my customers is my job.”
Kav waved a hand at his workout gear. “I’m doing a lunchtime workout.”
Most people only saw Kav’s money and designer suits, but I knew that he kept in shape.
“I’m working out too.”
My brothers studied me like I was a damn lab rat, and I fought not to glare at them. They knew me better than anyone.
“Looks to me like you’re working out your frustration.” Kav’s lips tipped into a smile. “Unsuccessfully.”
I growled. I pulled my boxing gloves off, then started undoing my wraps.
“Avoiding the issue.” Kav looked at Beau.
Beau nodded. “Yep.”
“If you’ve got something to say, say it,” I said.
“You’re wound up very tight over your pretty office manager,” Kav said.
“Assistant,” I bit out.
The assholes grinned at each other.
“And I’m not. She’s just my employee.” I turned, shoving my gear into my bag.
“Oh?” Kav’s tone was breezy. “So you wouldn’t mind if I asked her out?”
I whirled, my hands turning to fists at my side.
Kav grinned at me.
Fucker. I fought to unclench my teeth. “She’s off-limits.”
“I like her,” Beau said. “She’s good for you. Loosens you up a bit.”
“I don’t do relationships. I have a daughter.”
“That doesn’t mean you can’t be in a relationship, Colt,” Kav said.
“I’m not built for them. Daisy gets all my focus.”
Kav shook his head. “Just because you haven’t tried being in a relationship, doesn’t mean it isn’t for you.”
