So cheesy, I’d gag if I saw any other couple do this, especially after a fucking day, but… “I missed you, too.” And I did. Sleeping alone was… frustrating.

“I like this dating thing,” he says as he straightens and settles back on his seat.

“We haven’t done anything that screams dating yet except holding hands at the gala,” I point out dryly.

He throws me a look with so much heat, I instantly feel my cock start to get hard. “Really?”

“Oh, shut up,” I mumble.

He laughs, out loud and free, and I, yeah… I’m already way in over my head.

“So who do you love?” he asks as he snags my hand, interlaces our fingers, and rests them on his thigh. The casual intimacy of the move distracts me.

“Huh?”

“You just said you loved someone on the phone.”

“Oh, those were Hawk and Wolf Storm, they’re my oldest clients, I love them like little brothers,” I say with maybe more of an edge than necessary. I don’t like jealousy.

“Relax, baby. I was just asking.”

“Okay. I don’t cheat Harrison.”

“Well, I have, and it’s a miserable experience, for everyone involved, so I don’t think I’d like to repeat that one,” he says easily.

I only hum in answer. What else is there to say? I won’t live with the constant fear that he’ll cheat on me because he has in the past. If he does cheat on me then I’ll dump him and that’s that.

But what if I fall in love with him?

Well, then it’ll hurt a whole hell of a lot, but I’ll get over it eventually. I always do.

My thoughts are interrupted by my phone ringing again, this time with an unknown number. I groan internally because this will probably be another work call and I want to relax.

“Tristan Jones,” I answer.

“Hello little Tristan.” I recognize the voice immediately and my whole body tenses. Harrison must notice because he turns sharply to look at me, alarm clear as day on his face. Fucking Gavin.

“What do you want?” I ask aggravated already. And how the fuck did he get my number? I changed it after I dumped his ass like a million years ago.

“I see you bagged yourself a billionaire. Everyone’s talking about it. That’sinteresting, isn’t it?”

“Seriously, I have better things to do.” Like shoving my tongue down Harrison’s throat.

“I just thought you should know, I’m thinking of taking an interview with Page Six, they want to know everything about you and they’re offering me a lot of money to tell them what a good little slut you are for a chance to ride a big cock.”

Jesus fucking Christ. I stay silent, I don’t know what to say. JPR would be compromised if my sexual preferences are aired out.

“What the fuck do you want?” I grind out.

“Some info on your new man will be just as valuable to me if you don’t want me to do the interview.”

“Oh, fuck off, I’m not doing that,” I reply without thinking. Both scenarios are equally as shitty, but I’m not telling anyone anything about Harrison.

“Then you better be ready for the world to know you’re a whore.” The venom in his voice makes my jaw tense even more. Fuck I have to do something to stop him, but I won’t betray Harrison. I just won’t. I’m distracted thinking of the options when the phone is ripped out of my hands.

“If you do that,” Harrison speaks into the phone, “you’ll be very sorry.” His voice is as cool and in control as always, but the threat in his words can’t be disguised.

I hear Gavin’s voice faintly. “There’s nothing you can do to me,” he screams.
