I know what he’s saying. An impossible dream I refused to believe.

Until now.

Scent matches.

“When did you know we were scent matches?” I ask quietly.

“The first morning you came downstairs,” Rune says.

My eyes widen. “The first morning?”

“Yep,” Kylian admits. “We missed it the first night since it smelled like Lawrence dunked you in pheromones. We knew it that morning, though. You were ours.”

I shake my head. “But you didn’t tell me. And you let me go. You bought me this house and you—”

Cian presses a finger to my lips, silencing me. “You escaped an abusive alpha, and you were afraid. What you didn’t need were three alphas making demands on you. What you needed was time—and space—to heal and feel safe. We wanted to give that to you.”

My heart turns squishy soft. “And you’ve always been so good at giving me what I need.” I clear my throat. “I think I always knew we were scent matches.”

He gives me a faint smile. “You did?”

I nod. “It felt like an impossible dream. And you were right. I don’t think I was ready to embrace the truth, so I kept shying away from it. Until now.” I step into his body, wrapping my arms around him. “I love you so much.”

He kisses the top of my head and inhales deeply this time, doing nothing to hide it. “I love you, too.”

I suddenly remember there’s something I haven’t told them. It makes my body tighten with tension because it might mean they don’t want me anymore.

Cian pulls away to peer down at me with a furrowed brow. “Everleigh? What’s wrong?”

Not wanting to look him in the eye for this conversation, I focus on his chest. “I don’t think I can have kids. I think Lawrence drugging me did permanent damage. Lawrence seemed to think it did. He said I was defective.”

Rune is silent.

They’re all silent.

Rune takes my hand and tugs me toward the couch. “Come here, cher.”

He sits and places me on his lap as Cian and Kylian sit on either side.

Rune looks me right in the eye and says, “Now, when have we said anything about wanting kids?”

I blink. “Uh…”

They wait for my answer.

Eventually, I shake my head. “You haven’t. But alphas eventually want—”

“Thesealphas want you to be safe, need you to be happy, and would kill for you to be theirs,” Rune interrupts. “In that order. That’s it.”

I study his determined expression, then Cian’s, and finally Kylian’s.

“You mean it?”

Kylian nods. “If you want kids, there’s no reason we can’t look into adoption.”

“If and when you’re ready,” Cian says. “Okay?”

I return his smile. “Okay.”
