“When an omega joins a pack, she takes the pack’s name. So I’m Everleigh Ashe now. And I’d like you to bite me. I’d like you all to bite me.”

Silence reigns for a good thirty seconds.

I’m starting to get nervous when Rune blows out a heavy sigh and gets to his feet. “Cher, you have this unbelievable ability to make a man forget how to use his brain.” He kisses my forehead. “We need to be putting you to bed, not talking about breaking your bed.”

I blink at him. “Breaking my bed?”

His eyes are deep, hooded. “With what we want to do to you, it would break.”

“Oh. I don’t think I’d mind,” I say faintly, trying to imagine all those things they might do to me. “See, three alphas gave me a bank account with more money than I’ll ever spend, so we could always buy a new one.”

“Yeah, we need to go.” Kylian claims a quick, hard kiss from me and places me on the couch before he rises. There’s a suspiciously large bulge probing the front of his jeans.

“Yep.” Cian gets up too, and if I’m not mistaken, he’s also hard. I certainly feel something brush my thigh when he bends over me to kiss me goodbye.

“Go?I don’t understand.” I’m not sure what I thought would happen tonight, but it wasn’t them leaving.

Rune tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. “We’ll come pick you up tomorrow. Maybe we can take you and your mom out for breakfast before we go home.”

“Why not now?” I ask.

“She didn’t say, but we think your mom would appreciate one last night with you,” Cian says.

Oh.

“We’ll have Pack Lucas continue to watch the house, and you can come visit her anytime you want. She said she would try to come to us, but—”

“She doesn’t know when she’ll be comfortable enough to do that,” I interrupt Cian.

He nods.

“I’ll have to tell her about omega territory,” I say. “It helped make me feel safe. Maybe it will do the same for her.”

“Or we could build something at the bottom of the garden. A small shed if she doesn’t feel comfortable enough to come inside the house.” Kylian shrugs.

I stare at him, not trusting his casualness at all. “Why don’t I believe you when you say a small shed?”

Kylian flashes me a grin. “Sleep well, baby. We’d take you up and tuck you in, but—”

“I’m not sure any of us would leave,” Rune says.

“And we need to leave.” Cian gives me another soft kiss and they head for the front door.

I get to my feet as a question buzzes in my head. One I don’t think anyone in the city knows the answer to, but I think these three alphas who I love and who love me would tell me.

“Wait a second,” I call out.

They halt at the door and turn back to me.

“Cher?” Rune frowns. “What is it?”

“How did Pack Ashe form? No one in the city knows,” I say.

Kylian flashes me a grin. “Easy. My bosses hired me to kill these two. They were making a lot of money in their first year of investing, and my bosses liked the idea of helping themselves to their cash. I decided to join them instead.”

My mouth gapes open. “What! You’re joking, right?”

Rune shakes his head. “Not joking. He turned up, placed his gun down on our kitchen counter, and asked us if we had any gin. You should’ve seen Cian’s face.”
