“Devin said a neighbor saw someone parked up farther away. When they went to investigate, the person drove away.” Cian stops to adjust himself in his pants. “Could have been nothing but could be her.”

We have security cameras just outside the gate to our property, but if this happened further down the road, the cameras wouldn’t have picked it up.

“Lawrence sounds like he’s scaling down the search for Everleigh,” Kylian says.

“Unless that’s what he wants everyone to think,” I add.

Everleigh sits on the edge of the water, leaning back to stare up at the blue sky.

“I said itsoundslike he is. He isn’t.” Kylian sighs as Everleigh gives us a hint of the soft, creamy breasts her skimpy pink bikini barely contains.

I have no idea why Hali picked out that bikini over any other, but I fucking love her for it. Or hate her.

To have our omega so close and not be able to touch her…

This is pure fucking torture.

We take a long moment to enjoy the sight of Everleigh relaxing by the pool, kicking her legs in the water as she laughs with Hali.

“I’ve heard rumors he’s offering a reward to anyone who gives him a tip that helps him find Everleigh,” Cian says.

“Reward?” I frown. “How much?”

It hasn’t made the news, not the TV or the newspaper.

“A few grand. But the longer he doesn’t find her, I wouldn’t be surprised if that figure goes up,” Cian says.

“I’m surprised it’s not more.” I frown.

“Byron controls all the Wentworth money. I imagine Lawrence’s dad wants to be sure Everleigh won’t fall back into their laps,” Kylian says. “He must figure he paid for her before and doesn’t want to pay more.”

“Probably,” I agree with a growl at the way they treated Everleigh. Like she was a thing to own rather than a person. “It’s not the first time I’ve heard he’s tightfisted.”

Everleigh slips into the water, the pool lip briefly hiding her from view.

I turn to Cian. “Or Lawrence suspects she’s here. If he has one of his staff hanging around, why doesn’t he accuse us or confront us?”

Cian shrugs. “Maybe he’s waiting to be sure since we’re not without friends in the city. He can’t fling an accusation against us without it coming back on him if he’s wrong. Because, like you said, Byron controls his purse strings. If he wants to fight toe-to-toe with us legally, he can’t afford to. He needs proof.”

I nod. “He’ll want to know for sure.”

“We just have to keep on as if everything is normal. Moving all our meetings to virtual will only work for so long. People are going to start wondering why we went to Lawrence’s party, left in a hurry, and then spent the next few days not leaving our house. It’s suspicious,” Kylian says.

“So we go out. Maybe hit a beta bar,” I say.

Everleigh appears in the middle of the pool, floating, her eyelids fluttering closed as a small, satisfied smile touches her lips.

I imagine her looking the same way when I have her in my bed, my knot locking us together as she moans my name.

Kylian sounds like he’s glaring when he says, “I hope you’re not suggesting—”

“I’m not suggesting anything,” I cut him off, focused on the woman floating in the pool. “Just for us to beseendoing what we always do. Key word being seen.”

Because the thought of any woman putting their hands on me? The thought of doing the same?

That thought went right out the window the moment Everleigh padded down our stairs, smelling like ours.

“She’s stopped dragging furniture in front of her door,” Cian comments quietly.
