She laughs. “I’m not surprised.” She extracts a bottle of water from the fridge and fishes a couple of Panadol out of her bag. “Take these,” she instructs.

I swallow the paracetamol with a glug of water. “I feel as if I’ve been run over. It’s Huxley’s fault. I was doing all right until he started topping up my glass.”

She giggles. “You were pretty wasted.”

“Did I really strip in front of all those women?”

“Yes. And you did a mighty fine job of it, I have to say.”

I brush a hand over my face. “I can’t believe I did that.”

“You were amazing, Alex. Such a good sport. And so funny.” She moves closer and runs a finger down my chest. “I got you right down to your boxers.”

“I haven’t forgotten.”

“You made me pay for it, though.” She gives me a mischievous smile.

I think about how, when we got back, I held her down and thrust us both to a climax in minutes. Jesus. What a Neanderthal.

“Aw,” she teases, “Mr. Bashful. You’re almost blushing.”

“I’m so sorry.”

“Oh my God, don’t apologize. Best thing that’s happened to me all week.”

“You’re a naughty girl.”

“I’m going to make it my life’s work to lead you astray.”

I chuckle. She slides her arm around me, then lifts up and presses her lips to mine. I accept the kiss, then move back and pull a face. “Don’t. I smell awful.”

She nuzzles my neck. “You smell heavenly.”

“I can smell myself, Missie, and it’s not heavenly.”

“It’s manly. You smell all warm and sexy and pheromone-y. You drive me crazy, Alex. Have I told you that?” She kisses the hollow at the base of my throat.

I sigh, put down my coffee, and wrap my arms around her. “I’m crazy about you, too.”

She hugs me, then moves back a little so she can look up at me. “I’ve got a bone to pick with you, though.”

“Oh dear.”

“From now on, we need to be honest with each other where sex is concerned. You put words in my mouth last night, and that’s not fair. If I’m too tired, or not in the mood, I’ll say so, okay?”

“Okay.”

“And you do the same. Don’t have sex with me just because I want it.”

“Sure.”

She narrows her eyes. “You don’t mean that, do you?”

“If you think I’m ever going to turn down sex with you, you’re seriously misguided. I’d summon up the energy even if I’d just run a marathon.”

“But there are going to be times when you don’t feel like it.”

“I never not feel like it when you’re around.”
