"Right." She chuckled. "I fell asleep after your first climax and deprived you of the chance to show me your impressive recuperating time."
"You didn't fall asleep. You blacked out."
Frankie paled. "Did I faint again?"
"No, that wasn't it. It's normal for the female to black out after a venom bite. The euphoric element of the venom sends you on a fun trip that you are not in a rush to end. Do you remember any of it?"
"I do." Her eyes lost focus as she looked inward. "It was out of this world, literally. I saw translucent beings that were made of energy. They smiled and waved at me while I was passing over them." Her eyes refocused on him. "Do you know who they are?"
He shook his head. "Everyone reports more or less the same experience, but I don't know whether they are common hallucinations induced by chemicals contained in the venom, or something more."
"What about your spiritual leaders? Don't they have something to say about it?"
She could only imagine what humans would have made out of that. Some would have blamed the devil and called it a grave sin, while others would have made it into a religious experience.
He smiled. "If I could get an audience with an oracle, and if one was willing to grant me an answer, I could ask that question, but oracles are rare, and getting an audience is nearly impossible. People wait many years until their name is drawn in the lottery."

Dagor's home world sounded fascinating, and Frankie wondered how much he would be willing to tell her about it. Still, right now, she was most interested in those translucent beings made of energy.
If the oracles had the answers, how come no one had asked them about it yet?
That didn't seem likely. Dagor was probably just avoiding answering her question to keep up the mystery.
Still, it was possible that the goddesses on Dagor's planet didn't see the same things human females saw when tripping on venom. They might not be as susceptible to the venom's effect.
It was difficult to think with Dagor's hands roving over her back in a very suggestive way, but Frankie commanded her libido to stand down. Her body had already been sated last night, and it could give her mind a chance to satisfy its curiosity.
"I have a few questions."
Dagor smiled. "Usually, human females are much more loopy when they wake up from a venom trip. You seem perfectly lucid and ready to fire away."
"What can I say?" She batted her eyelashes. "I'm special. Do goddesses react the same way to the venom?"
"Not as strongly, but yes. They do."
"Do they see the translucent energy people?"
He nodded. "Everyone sees them when they are tripping. Even males sometimes see them, but since they usually have short trips, they don't remember much from them."
"How do males get to trip? I mean the heterosexual ones." She looked at him from under lowered lashes. "Do you have bisexual and gay gods?"
He laughed. "People who live forever eventually try everything, but there are those who are predominantly one or the other."
"That makes sense. So, what about those who never engage with other males? How do they get to trip on venom and see people made of energy?"
"In fights, gods bite other gods, and that's how they experience a venom bite, but in a very different way than females do. The venom is more concentrated, and its effect is stronger and shorter, but since we are very civilized now and no longer try to kill each other, the fighting is limited to sports, which are not very popular."
"That's good. I wish it was the same for humans." As his finger brushed over the seam between her butt cheeks, Frankie squirmed. "Are you doing this to make me stop asking you questions?"
He smirked. "No, you can keep asking for as long as you can hold back. This is payback for keeping me on the edge last night."
That was fair, and it was also a game Frankie knew that she would win. He had no idea how stubborn she could be.
"Did you ever get to experience a venom trip?"
Dagor nodded. "Troopers train in hand-to-hand combat. To my great shame, I often lost and got bitten."
