An answering smile spread across his face, the light blue in his eyes disappearing. He brought their bodies even closer. “In my arms. Where she belongs.”
“Hmmm.”
“If she agrees to take the job, she should know that it will involve hard work. Lots of piloting and,” he hooked her leg over his waist, “many, many mergers.”
Miya averted her eyes and pouted. “I don’t know, Therak. Sounds like a terrible job to me.” Then she met his mesmerizing gaze again and grinned from ear to ear. “I’ll take it.”
