Ty's and Lyric's Story

Chapter 1

Ty

Christian is at my side as we push open the casino’s doors. One of the waitresses called me and let me know that some guy came in and attacked Lyric. She was too fucking freaked to tell me much.

My heart is racing as we make our way down the hallway. I stop at the bar. The waitress looked at me and then looked over behind the bar.

“Go, man, I will check the cameras,” Christian says softly.

“Thanks” is the only word I can say.

I slowly make my way around the girl standing next to the bar. I stop when I see Lyric curled up in the corner on the floor, her head resting against the wall. There are fresh cuts and bruises on her face. Without her fully looking up at me, I can see she already has a black eye. My heart stops as I calmly make my way over to her.

I kneel in front of her. I lift my hand and gently brush against the side of her face with the back of my hand.

“Baby girl, look at me,” I whisper as my hand drops from her face. She does as I ask without question. She has been working for Christian for years at the casinos. In the last year, we have gotten closer. My need for her continues to get more intense, but I have been able to keep my desires under control for the most part.

“Ty,” she whispers my name, making my heart stop. What the fuck is it about this girl?

She affects me in ways that make no logical sense, and believe you and me, I have tried to make fucking sense of it, and it has gotten me nowhere except for being more fucking confused.

“It’s me,” I confirm.

She quickly moves from the corner and wraps her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist as I slowly stand up. Wrapping my arms around her tightly, she shoves her face into my neck. We have never shown this kind of affection before, but I have wanted to, fuck, I have wanted to.

“What happened?” I ask softly, feeling her heart racing against my chest.

She pulls back just enough to look at me. I stand still, waiting for her to answer. Her eyes are filled with fear, sadness, guilt, and shame.

“He found me,” she confesses.

“Who? Who found you, Lyric?” I ask, needing a fucking name.

“My husband,” she whispers in an ashamed voice.

My heart sinks with her words. What does she mean, husband?

“You’re married?” I ask, needing her to confirm what my ears just heard.

She nods as more tears escape her eyes and roll down her face. “Yes.”

“Lyric,” I whisper, hearing the rage and sadness in my tone.

“I’m sorry, Ty, I should have told you. I was just scared. Scared of him,” she says with such fear it makes my fucking knees weak.

I take in a deep, shaky breath. “Where is he?” I ask.

“He left, he got a call,” she says so quietly I can barely fucking hear her. She is normally quiet, like me, but this is different. She is different right now, and it honestly fucking scares me.

“Who is he, Lyric?” I ask. The more information I have, the easier it will be to fucking find him, dismember him, and leave him in the fucking street to let every mother fucker know in this fucking city that Lyric is fucking mine.

“A cop, he is a cop, Ty,” she confesses.

I don’t give a fuck who he is. He will not get away with this fucking shit. Christian stops at my side as Lyric shoves her face back into my neck, letting more tears escape her eyes. Christian leans over and shows me the video on the tablet. A man comes into the bar area and goes right to Lyric. I watch as he grabs her arm. She tries to get away, but he just pulls her into him. He is screaming at her.

He lifts his hand and slaps her across the face. He then grabs her face, forcing her to look at him as he smashes his lips to hers. My blood boils as he pushes her down on the ground, starts to punch her in the face, and kicks her in the stomach. He spits on her and screams more, and then I watch him pull out his phone and answer it as Lyric crawls away from him towards the corner where I just found her.
