“Who the hell are you? Vincent, what is the meaning of all this? How did you know where to find us?”

“I was your sons right hand. How did you think I couldn’t find you?” Vin asks in return.

“What the hell is happening?”

“What is happening is this. You’re going to shut the hell up and answer my questions. Then I’m going to send you straight to hell,” I tell him as he begins to chuckle.

“You? A friend of my dead sons?”

“No. Me, the wife, the widow of your dead son. You see, I was the one he was marrying that day. A Bosco.” His eyes widen before he makes his move. He lunges for me, a hit landing to my eye before Vincent is on him. He slams his fists into the man’s face before wrenching his hands behind his back.

“Marco?” I hear a women’s voice. It must be his mother. I move quickly, rounding the corner and grabbing her around the back of her neck.

“Don’t make a sound,” I tell her. She nods her head as I lead her into the living room where Vin is currently tying Marco to a chair. I move to do the same with his mother. Once they’re both secured, I move back in front of Marco.

“Surprised you didn’t I?”

“You’re father-“ I cut him off.

“Is dead. Just like you’re going to be. You had him killed. Why?”

“Marco?” His wife looks over at him, tears in her eyes.

“I did no such thing. He was my son!”

“A son that was going to take everything you had! A son that was smarter than you!” Vincent adds.

“He wasn’t going to take anything. You’re delusional if you actually believe that.”

“I believed it. He took me didn’t he? He kept me hidden from you and my father. I’d say he was a lot smarter than you gave him credit for.”

“You won’t do this. It will bring a war,” Marco roars.

“A war from who? Surely not you,” I giggle a little. He isn’t walking out of here. He isn’t living to breath another day.

“Other families that I have alliances with! They will come for you little girl and they will make you pay something fierce,” he says gritting his teeth. I laugh.

“Me? What risk could I possibly pose to them? I’m just a little college girl,” I tell him, mocking him. I raise my gun having enough of all this. I want this over and done.

“Will you do it?” He asks a smirk on his face. I smile back.

“I’ve been training for this, waiting for this for months now.” Vin moves, wrapping his hand around my waist as I look Marco in the eye.

“Well, if this isn’t a family reunion I don’t know what is.” My heart stops in my chest. That voice. He can’t be here. I glance around confused when I see him walk out of the shadows. It’s him. He’s wearing a dress shirt, that’s partially unbuttoned, the sleeves rolled up showing off all his tattoos. His hair is a little longer, shaggier than it was. I open my mouth but words won’t form. I look to Vin, but he’s just as stunned as I am.

“Hello, wife.” His eyes are on mine and all the air has left my lungs. His eyes move over me, taking me in before he sees Vin’s hand wrapped around my waist. I move to step toward him, needing to touch him, see that he’s real and alive when he throws his hand up to stop me. He walks over and steps in front of his father, eyeing him.

“You tried to have me killed. Why?”

“You were getting in too deep. I knew you were plotting something!”

“Marco! You didn’t!” His mother cries. Dom moves around the room and cuts his mother free, pulling her up into his arms. She sobs and cries telling him that she’s thankful he’s still alive. She’s asking questions that I want answers to, but Dom isn’t answering any of them. His eyes move to meet mine and all the air is sucked from the room. I feel dizzy. Slowly my eyes begin to flutter and then I’m falling.

“None of that’s important right now. What is important is finishing what I started. The men that work alongside my father are ruthless. They wouldn’t let this takeover go either. I have one more to kill aside from my father,” I hear Dom say. His voice, it wraps around me bringing me comfort. For a long minute I just lie here listening to him talk. I’ve missed his voice.

“I don’t understand, Dom. You were dead.”
