“You saw nothing here. You know nothing and if you think you do, me and my boys will come for you. You don’t want that do you?” I ask her in a condescending tone. She shakes her head rapidly and I smirk. Then I lean in and brush my lips over the flesh near her ear and whisper, “Good girl.” I didn’t miss the shiver that races over her body either when I was that close to her. She’s going to be a fun one to play with.

“Let’s go. Clean this mess up,” I tell Roni before Vin releases his hold on the girl. She bends over and throws up as I walk away like nothing ever happened.

Iroll up tightly in my blanket and watch the door. There’s no light streaming in from the living room and that makes me nervous. I hate the dark and although there’s a small night light in my room, I need the rest of the house lit up too.

Throwing my legs over the side of the bed, I slowly walk toward the door. My heart hammers in my chest the closer I get. Reaching out, I grab the knob in my hand and turn it slowly. Darkness greets me. My nerves are on edge as I step one foot out into the nothingness I see. Then the lights flip on and I let out a scream. So does Abby.

“What the hell are you screaming for?” She yells.

“What are you doing?”

“I forgot to leave the light on. I came back out,” she says sorrowfully. My hand is lingering over my heart where it feels like it’s going to jump out of my chest.

“You ladies finished yet?” Another scream tears from my throat along with Abby’s when I look over and see him.

“What the hell are you doing here? Abby, call the police!” I’m about to run to my room when he’s on his feet coming toward me.

“The police can’t help you. Besides, I only want to talk to you.” My heart doesn’t slow down, not even when he steps closer to me. Not when his cologne hits my nose. Not when his hand comes up to my cheek. I swallow the lump in my throat as tears begin to leak from my eyes.

“Don’t cry, Eva. I’m not here to hurt you,” he says softly and for some stupid reason I believe him. I nod my head and reach up, wiping away the tears when he turns to look at Abby. “No cops. If you do call, I will hurt her.” Abby nods. “Go back to your room.” She turns and hurries back to her room before he turns back to me.

I thought the first month of school was going by in a flash. I’d managed to steer clear of Dominic Dameco and his boys. Yes, I found out his name the day after the party. The day he forced me to watch him cut off a kids finger. Now he’s here, in my house.

“What do you want?” I ask trying to keep my tone as calm as possible, but he broke in here. He’s here.

“I wanted to talk,” he says simply as if that has any rational sense.

“You broke in.”

“Would you have let me in had I knocked?” He asks tilting his head to study me.

“Would I have had a choice?” I ask swallowing hard. I’m greeted with a sexy smirk that could melt a girls panties but this man is the devil. He’s evil, I’ve seen it.

“Probably not. Come,” he says ushering me into my room. I take trembling steps and walk in when he closes the door behind him. I debate screaming for Abby. I debate calling the cops, but he did say he’d hurt me if I did.

“What do you want?”

“I told you, I want to talk,” he says once more as he moves around my room. A few family photos, well, mostly me and my mother hang on the wall. My father never liked taking pictures and with good reason. Me and my mother did it mainly behind his back because she always said that one day she would be gone and those photos would be all I had left of her.

“Then talk,” I say shortly. He smiles and turns to face me, leaning against my dresser with his arms crossed over his chest.

“You’re new here.”

“What an obvious statement.” I cross my arms mimicking him.

“You don’t know who I am do you?” The tone in which he takes pisses me off. Of course I know who he is, I asked around. What I didn’t realize until later was that he is indeed Mafia. He’s everything I wanted to get away from, but from what I could gather our families have nothing to do with each other. I figured the best course of action was to stay away from him and up until now I had been doing a damn good job at it too.

“Dominic Dameco,” I state.

“Is that all you know about me?”

“No. I also know that you like to use women, cut off fingers of people you don’t like and you’re arrogant.” He chuckles and my stomach drops. That was the sexiest sound I’ve ever heard.

“Is that all?”
