“Dom!” Everything crashes over me. Him, his scent, the feeling of his body pressed to mine, the beat of his heart. I come in a wave of euphoria that I never have before. When he’s finally finished and pulls out of me, my feet hit the floor once more. I don’t know when Vin left, but I’m glad he did. Dom’s hand comes up and brushes my hair out of my face before lowering his lips to mine once more.

“You belong to me.” I don’t nod my head, I don’t agree, I just stare at the man that is slowly breaking me in half again.

“You can’t choose my friends.”

“You can’t fuck my men,” he says.

“I never fucked him, Dom.”

“That isn’t what it looked like to me. We argue and he’s the first person you call.”

“Again, he’s my friend. When you decided to play dead, he was there for me you asshole.” I shove at him, watching him take a step back.

“You’ve been working out,” he says a glint in his eye.

“I’ve been training.”

“Training?” he asks cocking his head to the side.

“I’m not a naïve little girl anymore. I want to be able to protect myself and those I care about.”

“You did this for me?” He asks actually sounding shocked by it. Who the hell would I have done this for? I wanted revenge.

“If you need me to answer that then you’re not as smart as I thought you were.” With that, I walk away and head back up stairs.

Tension has been thick in the house. Having Dom’s mother here isn’t helping the matter either. Vin has been allowed back with strict orders to stay away from me. I understand that, but he’s still my friend.

“Have you eaten?” Dom asks as I sit at the counter ignoring him. I shake my head no, but never look up at him. He moves around the kitchen, grabbing things and making noise. I still ignore him.

“When are you going to tell her?” His mother asks. I lift my head now and glance over at her then move my gaze to Dom.

“Tell me what?”

“Not right now, mother. I think it’s best to wait,” Dom adds preparing something in the pan on the stove.

“Don’t you dare lie to me again, Dominic!” I snap. He turns around his hair a mess, his eyes focused on me.

“This isn’t up for discussion.”

“She was there to kill him, Dominic. She deserves to know.” Once again his mother speaks and my heart kicks up a notch. She doesn’t need to say it, neither does he.

“He’s gone.”

“Yes,” Dom says looking down.

“You let him get away? You fucking had him right there and you let him go?” I scream at the top of my lungs. How the hell could he do that? What the hell was he thinking?

“You fainted, Eva,” he growls.

“And what? That meant nothing. You should have finished what I was there starting, Dom!” His eyes flash to mine and hold there. Danger and fury rage in a storm in his eyes.

“I wanted you safe,” he says.

“I was fine. What the hell is wrong with you? He tried to kill you and you let him walk? How stupid can you be?” I shove off the stool I’d been sitting on and round the counter shoving him back a step. He lets me do it, but I see the warning in his eyes.

“You lied again huh?” I ask shoving him once more.
