“You are very welcome. I need to go, but I will see you ladies soon enough,” he says turning with his bag in hand and walking away.

“Jesus, that was intense!” She’s not even lying about that.

Dominic

Ipull my shoulders back, aiming directly at the man in front of me. If it wasn’t for his son, we would have never had known.

“Mr. Blankenship. Do you have any parting words?” I ask playing the executioner that I’ve become.

“You bastards. All of you! How could you do this, Dom? You believe a little mole over me?” He roars as he sits on his knees at my feet. I’ve always found it exhilarating having someone at my feet. The power, the way I can play God while they beg for something they will never receive. A second chance. In this world, there are no second chances and it would do those around me good to remember that fact.

“Tell me it was all a lie,” I say in a condescending tone.

“You know it was!” He roars. I have no urge to sit and listen to this. Pulling the trigger, he falls to the floor in a heap. I roll my shoulders, cracking my neck from side to side before stuffing my gun back into it’s holster.

“Clean this up and let my father know it’s handled,” I tell Roni. He nods his head and pulls his phone out ready to get the clean up crew. I turn on my heel, grab the bag of cash and walk out of the warehouse toward my car. Passing the bag off to Mario, he heads for the van ready to secure the money as I climb into my car. I look down at my tuxedo and thank fuck I didn’t get blood on it. Reaching for the small box on the floor, I set it in the seat and lift the lid making sure all is a go with my poison. The white powder sits in a glass vial ready for my using and use it I will.

I pull out of the parking lot heading straight to The Meadows, a large building being used to house the gala tonight. It shouldn’t take me long to get there and the only reason I’m really interested in going, aside from watching Mosco slowly die is to get closer to Eva. I knew she would be there, I’m the one that set Gabe up with a hefty payment to do so.

The drive doesn’t take long as I pull up to the gates. The Meadows is gorgeous with it’s sprawling grounds and trees that line the drive. There is more than one building at the Meadows as well as a giant lake that can be sailed at certain times of the year. Rolling my window down, I’m quickly ushered through the gates. I drive the winding driveway until the massive building comes into view. There’s already many cars being parked and before I get too close, I grab the box containing my mask and the vial before pulling up to the valet. He nods and smiles at me as I climb out and look around. Many other syndicates area already in attendance with many more pulling in as we speak. Just as I’m about to climb the stairs one catches my attention.

“Dominic Dameco. I didn’t know if I’d be seeing you here.” I turn my head and see one of the Bosses of the Malcolm syndicate smiling brightly.

“Terrance Malcolm, it’s a pleasure,” I say politely, offering him my hand. He takes it in his and shakes it before letting out a long sigh.

“Do these things always get longer and less fulfilling?” he asks. I smile.

“Of course. What would the governor do otherwise if not to watch us all squirm under his gaze?” The Governor is the biggest paid off official we all have on payroll. Any of the syndicates would be able to commit whatever crime they see fit in Chicago considering the amount of money they shell out for it.

“Governor Ries is going to be his own downfall one day.” I nod my head hoping like hell I’m the one he has to face when that time comes. I’d give everything to torture that man.

“Indeed. Shall we?” I say offering my arm to his wife. Malcolm doesn’t bat an eye at me knowing that I would steal his last breath if only the opportunity would fall into my lap. You see, I’m not a good man. I’ve never been a good man and for the foreseeable future I won’t be. I like who I am. Being the executioner for this family has been something I was groomed for since I was born. I have no other siblings and it always made me wonder why, but at the same time it never bothered me because no one and I mean no one could be as cunning and deadly as I am.

As we step inside, I release Malcolm’s wife to him before stepping to the side to put my mask on. As soon as I have it in place, I slip the vial into my pocket and toss the box before moving through the room. The plan is to find my father, but also to find that sexy little girl that keeps pulling my attention. Whatever it is about her seems familiar and I’m unsure why. I know I’ve never seen her before but there’s a sense that I know her in some form. Maybe it’s a former life, who the hell knows.

Strolling across the floor, I take in my exits, the guards, whose guards are where. My plan wouldn’t go off without a hitch if I didn’t pay attention to details.

Once I’m satisfied with that I move on to the next. The kitchen. No one looks my way knowing that any syndicate can come in and out of here when they please. It’s just the way our world works. Now if things were to be touched while we were back here, it would all be reported, but browsing isn’t off limits. I take in the waitresses, the waiters, the one I plan on using making herself known in a quick manner.

Once I have everything in place, I head back out to the party. The lights are dim, music plays echoing through the air, but it’s her that catches my eye. She wears the silver gown that clings to her body walking through the room. She either doesn’t notice the stares or she doesn’t care. Her long brown hair is curled yet again hanging down her back. Her shoulders are wrapped in a piece of fabric that leaves nothing to the mind. I watch her lick her lips unknowing of how she makes my cock twitch in my pants. That one is going to be my downfall.

“Dom, how are you this evening?” I internally cringe when my father steps up next to me.

“Great as usual. I assume you spoke to Mario?” I ask glancing over at him. He nods his head.

“I did. Glad it was taken care of promptly. No one wanted him in attendance tonight,” he reminds me. I grin, knowing that was the case.

“As with everything I do, father it was done promptly.”

“And Mosco?”

“Don’t worry, father. I’ll be sure to give you a show later in the evening. Now if you’ll excuse me.” I walk away from him and head out onto the dance floor where she’s currently dancing with my next victim.
