I roll onto my side and watch them closely. My heart is so happy.

This afternoon I have a surprise planned for Emma. I am excited and I want to tell her what it is, but so far, I have managed to keep my mouth shut. However, the closer we get to the right time for me to tell her the harder it has been for me to keep it all a secret.

"Are you looking forward to our afternoon adventure?" I ask Emma.

"Yes, I can't believe you are taking me snorkeling. I've never been before. Do you think the hotel babysitters will be alright with Logan?" She asks a little worried. "Of course, they will be, my love." I smile. She is the most amazing mom. "There is another baby who is also going to be there this afternoon who is the same age as Logan. It will be so great for him to make a little friend."

She nods, feeling a little more relaxed.

"So where are we snorkeling?" She asks, curious.

"You will just have to wait and see."

"But will there be sharks? I am terrified of sharks. I mean I would love to see one, but not while I am in the water with it."

"I am not sure about that, sweetheart, but I can assure you that we are going with the best dive instructors in the whole of Hawaii, so we will be perfectly safe."

I grin, again struggling to keep the big secret from her.

"What are you grinning about, Mr. Blake?" She asks, watching my expression. Damn, she reads me too well.

"Nothing," I say, without much conviction.

"I know when you are up to something." She presses further. But I shake my head, clamping my lips together, not trusting myself to speak.

"Alright," she says, "keep your secrets."

After a little more time playing on the beach, Emma stands up with Logan in her arms. "I am going to go get ready. Then we should drop him at the daycare."

I nod "Yes, I think it is time."

We head back to our luxury beachfront room and Emma starts packing a bag for Logan. Diapers, extra clothes, snacks, and toys. "I don't think he needs so many toys, Em, they have a lot of toys there as well."

"I know, but these are his favorite ones." She says, shoving more toys into the bag.

I shake my head. Whatever helps her feel more relaxed, I am completely fine with it. I know she still struggles to leave Logan alone, but I have made sure that the place he is at is world-class so that we can relax and enjoy our time together.

My stomach flips with excitement as it gets closer to the time when I get to give Emma her surprise.

Soon we are on the boat and heading out towards the reef. Emma is a bundle of nervous energy as the boat skips across the water. She is grinning from ear to ear. Finally, we stop and drop anchor. The dive master runs through all the safety details with us then we gear up and jump into the water.

It is crystal clear. The reef around us is alive with color.

We are excited to see fish of all shapes and sizes, even an octopus and various eels. A sea horse and to my delight, and Emma's horror, a small, black-tipped reef shark makes an appearance. The lead diver stays close, and I see Emma relaxing when she can tell the shark is calm and just as curious as we are.

Then the dive master signals to me and points to a section of the reef and I know it is finally time. Above water, I grab Emma's hand and say, "There is something I need you to see."

"Another weird-looking sea creature?" she laughs, takes a deep breath, and follows me under.

I lead her to a piece of bright red coral. She notices the treasure chest beneath it right away and looks at me curiously through her goggles. Then she hops to the surface for a quick breath and dives down again. I gesture for her to open it and she does.

Inside is a key attached to a waterproof note.

She reads it.

You are the key to my heart and my happiness.

We swim to the surface, and she holds the key up for me to see.
