“I don’t care.”

“Let karma punish them, let’s go start our lives afresh elsewhere.”

“Don’t you watch the news? The newscaster refers to me as Karma.” I retorted with a smirk on my lips.

“Flower…”

“It’s not happening. I plan to murder every single Antonio.” I glared at him and seethed, “Every.Single.One”

“Why can’t you think about me for once? Do you hate me that much now? Do I really mean nothing to you?” I turned away from him and he kneeled in front of me.

“I love you, I love you so much. If you want me to leave everything and follow you to wherever, I’m ready. If you want me to kill my brothers, I’m ready. I don’t want to lose you anymore, I want to be with you every second of my life. Why can’t you see that?”

“BECAUSE IT CHANGES NOTHING.”

He placed his head on his hands with a whimper and I felt bad. He was worried about me and I was just being unnecessarily harsh on him. I held up his chin and he looked at me.

“Jayden, I can’t leave a task incomplete. Your family… they hurt me.”

He held my hand to his cheek, and I almost melted at the feeling of his warm skin under my touch. “Then kill them all at once. You’ve killed Sam, right? Good. My dad is at his house now, and I know where Daniel and Raphael live. Let’s kill them now.”

I frowned. “I don’t want you to get involved in this.”

“But they hurt me too. They caused all these for us, they separated us. I don’t know who you are anymore, you don’t know who I am either. We used to be best friends, I used to annoy the shit out of you. I used to be your bad boy and you used to be my Flower, but now you don’t even want me to call you that anymore.”

“Jayden.” He hummed in response, his gaze hopeful. “Kiss me.” He widened his eyes, and I nodded. “You don’t want to?”

He smiled and cupped my face. “That’s what I live for.” He joined my lips with his.

The kiss was slow, gentle and passionate, I could read every message he was passing. He stood up, holding me as I ran my fingers through his hair. Groaning, he deepened the kiss.

How I wished to erase my memories and start afresh with him. Every fiber in me was fighting to hate him. I shouldn’t be with him, Icouldn’tbe with him. Our relationship was a lost cause. My mind went back to the dream I had and I tightened my closed eyes. I shouldn’t think about that. He shouldn’t know how I daydreamed about it since that day.

A tear fell from my eye into our joined lips and he released my face to look at me. “What’s wrong? You don’t want to do this? It’s okay, you don’t have to.”

“Sam said my dad did a DNA test on me,” I revealed quietly. I couldn’t believe I was having this conversation with him or anybody at all.

“A DNA? Why?”

“I don’t know. Do you also think I may not be his daughter?”

“Let’s ask him,” he said and I frowned. “Where is he? Call him and let’s ask why he would do something like that, everyone knows you’re his daughter.”

“Jayden, my… my dad is dead,” I said, suddenly self-conscious again. I thought his friend would have told him that by now. He widened his eyes and his mouth fell open. “I killed him,” I added and he took two steps away from me.

“No. You would never… you would never do that to your dad.”

I folded my hands to my chest and raised an eyebrow at the space he created between us. “Why? Do I disgust you now?”

He walked back to hold my face in his hand after realizing that he moved away from me “No, no, you can never disgust me, I’m sorry. But why did you do it?”

“He cheated on mom and had a child. He claimed it was a one night thing and that he was drunk.”

“I can’t believe Uncle Chris would do that. What happened to our fathers, Flower? What went wrong with our families?” He asked as he closed his eyes and sighed.

Paying close attention to him, I noticed that his eyes were puffy. He had heavy eyebags and I wondered when he last slept. He must be so worried about his father finding me, but he seemed to be forgetting that I was no longer his weak little girl.

“What happened to them doesn’t matter anymore. All that matters now is that I’m punishing them for it.”
