I hadn’t had any business in a while, except the one of Mrs Grey, but her death was something I had planned before Madame even talked about it, so it was also personal.

I dialed Chan’s number and he picked it almost immediately as if he was expecting my call.

“Hey Jordy, I was expecting your call,” he started and I nodded, confirming my thoughts to myself. “Did you get the papers? Or card?”

“Yes I did, but there’s something important I need you to do first.”

“Something important? What is it?”

“Can you log out my information from the internet?” I asked in one breath.

“Is something going on?”

“Yes, I also need you to block access to view my statistics and shut down my cyber guide.” I finished, stating exactly what Yusuf said.

“That sounds really serious, Jordan, is someone on your trail? Do you need to take cover? You can come to France.” He rambled on in a worried voice.

“I can’t. Just do what I asked, please, I’ll sort it out.” He gave a rustle and I continued, “hey Chan, I’m okay. I promise I am.”

“Okay, I’ll do what you asked now. Update me, okay? Promise me you will.”

“I promise,” I responded. I wasn’t telling him about my mother’s journal and the secrets I found. I always told Chan everything, so not telling him this was another proof that I was disgusted and embarrassed by my own mother’s actions.

“I’ll call you later, bye.” I said and hung up.

After about twenty minutes, my phone rang and I checked who could be calling. It was an unknown number, but I knew it was Jayden, I recognized it with the ‘23’ that ended it.

I remembered the fight we had and how he was mad at me, and I contemplated not picking up the call because I wasn’t in the mood for another argument with him or anybody. After a few seconds of thought, I picked it up and a worried voice came on.

“Flower, are you okay?” I frowned at his question. Why did he ask that?

“Why?” I asked, instead of replying to him.

“John just told me Mr Tee went to South Africa to find out information about you. What do we do, Jordan? What do we do?” He rambled on, voice laced with worry.

“I can handle it, you don’t have to worry about me.”

“What did you just say? I don’t have to worry about you? Then who do I worry about? Are you still mad at me? I’m sorry, I was just being stupid. Will you forgive me now and tell me what we should do?”

“Jayden, I will handle it,” I repeated and heard him turn on his car engine. “Are you going somewhere?”

“Raphael called me. He said he had important things to tell me,” he responded and I nodded to myself.

“Bye then,” I said and proceeded to hang up.

“Flower, wait…” he said and I returned the phone to my ear.

“What?” I asked in a whisper.

“I’m sorry about what happened earlier, it was all my fault. I shouldn’t have… I didn’t mean to get you mad.”

“But you did.”

“Yes, I did. I’m sorry.”

I bit my lower lip and sighed, trying to ignore the Jordan in me telling me that I should be the one apologizing. I knew I should, but I didn’t know how to. I hadn’t apologized to anyone since forever.

“Are you there?” He prompted.
