“You do it too, okay? Please do it.”

“I will,” he groaned. “I can’t believe I’m protecting the girl who almost killed me. It’s totally against my principles.”

“The love of my life over your principles, John.”

“Yeah I figured.” His response was dry.

I heard my phone vibrate and checked it. Raphael was calling. Why was everyone calling me? “I’m getting another call.”

“Okay bye,” he hung up and I answered the next call.

“What!?”

“I need you to see something, Jay. This is so important and I can’t believe it. It’s about Dad and Jordan’s parents.”

Dad and Jordan’s parents? Did this have something to do with the revenge dad talked about? Was this about to prove that something did happen?

“Fine, send me your address.”

“Wow, you don’t even know where I live.” He chuckled dryly and I hung up. I grabbed my car keys and went outside, a message of Raphael’s address arrived and I got in my car. I dialed Jordan’s number and prayed that she picked up.

After a few seconds, she answered. “Flower, are you okay?” was the first thing that came out of my mouth.

“Why?” She asked sternly.

“John just told me Mr Tee went to South Africa to find out information about you. What do we do, Jordan? What do we do?” I rambled on, my voice heavily laced with worry as all sorts of negative emotions surged through my body.

“I can handle it, you don’t have to worry about me.” She said and my heart ached with both hurt and pain.

“What did you just say? I don’t have to worry about you? Then who do I worry about? Are you still mad at me? I’m sorry, I was just being stupid, will you forgive me now and tell me what we should do?”

“Jayden, I’ll handle it,” she repeated. I held the phone to my ear with my shoulder and started my car engine, driving away and she asked, “are you going somewhere?”

“Raphael called me, he said he had some things to tell me,” I came clean to her. I couldn’t wait to know if it was something important so I could share it with her.

“Bye then,” she said and I slightly frowned, she didn’t respond to my apology earlier.

“Flower, wait,” I called out.

“What?” Her voice was so soft that I almost turned to her house. God I wanted to be with her so bad.

“I’m sorry about what happened earlier, it was all my fault. I shouldn’t have, I didn’t mean to get you mad.”

“But you did.”

I nodded to myself as I remembered everything I did. I was wrong, totally wrong. “I did.” I agreed with her. and everything fell silent. I was only convinced that she was still on the phone when I heard breathing.

“Are you there?”

“Yes, yes I am.”

“So do you forgive me?” I begged again, desperate for an answer.

“Jayden,” She called instead and I sucked in breaths. What was she about to say? ‘No I hate you and I never want to see you again?’ Or ‘I’m coming to kill you next, so get ready?’

“Hmm,” I hummed in a low voice.

“I’m sorry too.”
