“I’ll be right there. Flower, I know you can hear me. I’m coming, please don’t hurt him. I’m on my way and…” The phone hung up and I smacked my hand on the table with a loud cuss.

I put on gray sweatpants with a white jersey, leaving my hair as messy as it was. I picked up my car keys and bolted out the door. I really hoped she didn’t hurt him.

I raced toward the warehouse following my drivemap. I got to the warehouse and I realized I had to park my car to get to the fourth container. The whole place was messy and dirty and it definitely couldn’t be where she lived. It wassoobvious that she was trying to trick him into following her.

I wondered how John got here or why he followed her into a container in the first place. The guy used to look like someone who would love to live long, I didn’t know what happened to him all of a sudden.

I had no idea what to expect, so I entered the warehouse with my hands in the air. I almost laughed. The idiot was tied to a chair, with his head thrown back. I glanced over to my left and there she sat, smoking without any worries in the world.

She used to be so colorful, her favorite colors used to be purple, pink and orange, and I would mock her on how those colors were too flashy. But now she was so black and gray, so emotionless that my heart ached. It was all because of me and my family.

Despite the change though, she was still so beautiful. So beautiful that my heart physically hurt. She looked like she was taken out of a princess fairytale. Well she used to be a princess, but now she was a queen –myqueen.

She might have killed my brother, but she only did what I couldn’t do, being a coward.

If she wanted to kill me now, then I would gladly die in her arms. But if she didn’t, then I’d spend the rest of my life showing her that she was the only one I had ever wanted.

It was her, it had always been her.

“Jayden. Hey, he’s here.” The stupid man announced my presence while I was still admiring the woman of my heart.

Jordan turned her neck to look at me and I sucked in my breath. She checked me out for a while, her eyes lingering on my messy hair and I mentally patted my back for not combing it.

A big grin broke on her face and I almost pulled her in a hug, thinking she was happy to see me, but she brought out her knife and moved toward John. I held my breath. What was she doing?

“Look, our mutual friend is here,” she said to John, romancing him with a knife and he squirmed helplessly. “Hello, welcome. Now the plan was for you to watch your friend die.” She held him by his neck and set the knife on it.

“Flower, Flower. I don’t know if you really don’t remember me or if you are just mad, but he… he has nothing to do with this. Please just let him go and we can talk about this.”

She scoffed, pressing the knife to his neck harder.

“Yes, he’s right. Let me go so you both can talk about it. Ah…” John screamed and I flinched, my hands pulling my hair.

Okay, this was messed up. I couldn’t let her hurt him, he did nothing. He was just caught up in it all. Caught up and stupid too because this place was nowhere for a private investigator to follow someone to.

“Flower, please put the knife down.” She tightened her grip again and I shut my mouth immediately.

“Ah, shut the fuck up. Stop calling her Flower, I don’t think she likes it. She tightens her grip whenever you say that, you stupid asshole!” John screamed.

I glared at him. I figured that out. Okay, let’s try again.

“Jordan, please drop the knife. We can talk about this, you and I, like we always did.” I softened my voice, but she ignored me, looking back at John who whimpered.

“Didn’t I tell you that you’ll get caught eventually?” She asked and he nodded eagerly. “Now tell me why I shouldn’t kill you. List two reasons and explain one why I shouldn’t snap your stupid neck.”

I gaped at her. She was so different, so dominant and so professional. But professional in what? In killing people?

She was the one, she was my Flower. But then, why did I feel like she was not the one?

Of course she wasn’t the one. We destroyed Flower in my house, in a room that was three doors away from mine. We destroyed her, and I watched and helped them do it.

“I’m your boyfriend’s best friend and… ahh.” I winced as she grabbed his jaw. Her hands were still smaller than mine, but they must hurt if John’s face was all squeezed like that.

He called me her boyfriend, he was going to die.

“Now I have two more reasons to kill you,” she said and my head jolted to her as I calculated the two reasons. One, he called me her boyfriend, what was the second one? She couldn’t possibly want to kill him for calling himself my best friend, could she? Was she jealous? I meant Flower used to be jealous whenever anyone else called me their friend, but who was Alex?

“Are you not her boyfriend?” He asked me, then directed himself back to Jordan. “Listen to me, Jordan, he never denied when I called him your boyfriend. Oh God I swear if I die, I’ll kill you.” He rambled on as I glared at him. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Jordan looking at him with an amused smile on her face.
