What was she thinking? Was she entertained by him or was she thinking of different ways to kill him? Was John stupid? Why did he do things like this?

First he followed her to a warehouse, got down from his car to follow her into a container. Now he called her Jordan even though he clearly said she had a new name.

What did he even think of himself following her to this place in the first place? Did he think he was an American Investigator or something? Well he was an American investigator but… oh just fuck my life.

He was not even scared for his life. Nevermind he was, it was just that his sense of humor still hadn’t taken the situation seriously. At least not until Jordan prepared to snap his neck.

“Mr Dee.” Jordan called me by the name I gave her at the club and I narrowed my eyes at her. Where was she heading with this? “I’ll leave your friend on one condition.”

That wasn’t something I wanted to hear. A condition with Jordan –a condition with Alex scared me. I was about to say something else to pacify her, but John interrupted.

“He’ll do it, I swear he will. He wouldn’t want me to die, he loves me.” He said and I shut my eyes, internally begging him to stop complicating the situation.

“SHUT YOUR STUPID MOUTH, YOU RAMBLE TOO MUCH FOR A MAN.” He clamped his mouth shut immediately and I almost laughed. If he ever survived this, he wouldn’t believe when I told him in the next five years that he was once in this position.

I sighed. “What is the condition, Flow… I mean Jordan?” It was hard seeing her like this and not call her Flower.

Back then, I wouldn’t call her any other name, even in front of other people where she would beg me to stop because she already blushed so hard that she turned crimson. But this Alex, the name didn’t seem to have any effect on her.

“The next on my list is Rick Antonio, and I plan to kill his wife too. Rick dies nevertheless, but you can save your sister-in-law if I kill this stupid guy right here. So your friend or your sister in law?” She said casually, and my hands fell beside me.

“Oh-Oh,” John singsonged.

Rick was going to die, he was going to die next. He did bad to her as well. When dad brought us into the dark room and told us to sleep with her, he didn’t even object. He just took her right there after Troy and Sam as if he’d been waiting for it all his life. He ignored the blood dripping out of her and just kept forcing his way in.

But Dana, Dana didn’t do anything and to top that, she was pregnant with my niece, who was also innocent. And John, John was my friend; without Jordan in the picture, he was my best friend.

He had been with me since college. He was the only one who spoke to my mentally deranged ass and he was always helping me. Just like how he was the one who found her for me.

Killing Dana meant killing two people, my sister-in-law and my niece, and killing John meant killing my best friend, my helper. I ran my hands through my hair in despair. I had not a single idea of what to do. What would people do in this situation?

“Ah… Umm Jayden?” John pulled me out of my thoughts. I turned to look at him to see Jordan slightly running the knife down his hand. John and I shared eye contact, then he looked away, breathing a laugh.

“I can’t tell you to choose me, Dana is your family,” he said and Jordan stared at him with a face I couldn’t read.

Wait a minute.

This was just like Jordan, my brothers and I. Jordan was my best friend, my first and only love. If someone were to put us in this situation, what would I do? Who would I choose? My father’s family or a woman I wished to startmyown family with?

“Jordan, listen to me,” I started and she turned to me. If she was my Flower, then I just had to find a way to her heart. If I was still there, Dana and John could survive this.

“I’m listening,” she said as she folded her hands to her chest and stared at me with no emotion.

I swallowed my spit and started. “My family did bad to you, I know.” She scoffed and I could tell I wasn’t doing a good job, but I continued. “But I’m telling you now that if someone were to put us in this same situation, then I choose you.” Her hands unfolded absentmindedly and I nodded at her.

Her face was still showing no emotion, but her stance was relaxed. John stared at me, but I didn’t spare him a glance, as my only focus was on her. “I will always choose you. I know I didn’t do anything to save you when you needed me. I was stupid and weak, but even with a gun to my head, I will choose you. You are my best friend and my Flower and… I’m sorry Jordan, please let him go.”

She tightened her hold on her knife again and moved to John, still holding his neck. Didn’t I do a good job? “You haven’t chosen Mr Dee,” she says. “I said between your friend or your sister-in-law.”

“I choose you.”

She flashed me an angry look. At least she was showing me some emotion.

“She said between Me and Dana.” John scowled at me and I glared at him, but soon focused back to Jordan.

“I know you, Jordan, and you know me too. You are just angry at me, but I understand and I am angry at myself more. I want you to direct all your anger at me, leave John and Dana out of this. They did nothing wrong and you know they don’t deserve this.”

If nothing, I was infuriating her more. “They did nothing wrong? This bitch has been trailing me for four years,” She yelled, throwing daggers at John. He must have told her, well that means she now knows that I’d been searching for her for four years. At least she should give me some pity.
