Wait, flower? What if I called her Flower? “Would you like it if I called you Flower?”

She furrowed her eyebrows and looked at the rose in her hand. “Flower?”

“Yes. You are the most beautiful girl in the world, just like the way this flower is the most beautiful in our garden. I love you just the way you love flowers because you make me happy just the way flowers make you happy.” She giggled, her nose scrunching and her face wrinkling.

“So, will you be my Flower?”

She blushed and nodded shyly. I smiled and ruffled her hair, but she frowned and slapped my hand away. It didn’t take five seconds for her smile to return to her lips. She quietly repeated the name to herself and I did the same.

She covered her face with her hands before she removed it and put her hair behind her ear in a coy manner. She sniffed her flower and I sniffed her hair. She stared at her flower and I stared at mine.

One thing was true though, my Flower was more beautiful than hers.

PRESENT

I went in my car, called John and told him to do a background check on Daniel’s investigator. I asked Jordan if I could come to her place later, but she hissed and refused to reply.

Dad was now searching for her. When Daniel suggested that Jordan could have sent Alex, I wason one handrelieved that they didn’t realize that Jordan and Alex were the same person, but I was also scared because they would want to look for Jordan to confirm if she was or was not the one sending Alex to us.

I didn’t know what to do. I knew Jordan heard us, but she had been awfully quiet since, which meant that she probably was planning on her next move.

She killed Troy first before Rick, and now Sam was next. I already knew she was doing it in order, but did the others realize that? If Sam died, did that mean Daniel was next?

“Dad, why didn’t you search for Jordan when she escaped?” Raphael blurted out and we both looked at each other before we turned to our dad.

It was true that he had been mad after he woke up and realized that Jordan and her mom were gone, he even ordered to kill Mrs Sandy, our cook, and three other guards. But after that day, he never mentioned it, and didn't even attempt to look for them.

“I got my money.” He shrugged.

Something was going on. Okay, he got his money back, but he wasn’t even worried that Uncle Chris would file a case against him? He should have tried to find them with the intent of killing them to cover up what we did.

“You got your money back and just decided to let them go?” I raised an eyebrow at him. “Just like that?”

“Like I said, Jayden, I got my money back. That was the reason I took them anyway.”

“Dad, she was twelve,” I raised my voice. I had never spoken about it to him since Jordan and her mother escaped. The teenage me thought he forgot and didn’t want to remind him about her. It was my first time talking about it with him as an adult.

“Like what could have come over you? What made you think it okay for six boys to rape a twelve-year-old girl?”

“Stop it, Jayden,” Daniel said

“You don’t get to talk, you jerked off to a rape video. Ah you’re all sick in the head.”

“Jayden.” He barked

“Dad,” I matched his tone as we both glared at each other with heavy breaths. “I am not that silly stupid young boy anymore, it’s high time someone called you out about your shitty behavior. What you did should haunt you till you die but no, you’re living your life as if nothing ever happened.”

He breathed a laugh. “You know nothing about what happened.”

“And I want to know. Let’s start from why Uncle Chris would steal your money in the first place.”

“Just leave me alone and get out.”

“You were his best friend, why didn’t he just ask you? Tell me.” I pressed harder.

“He was just a stupid idiot trying to get revenge,” he snapped suddenly and I stopped.

“Revenge for what?”
