She groaned.

“There’s no one else I’d rather have stitching me up. Just you, Nurse St. Clair.” Gray’s voice turned husky and he dragged Aubrey up onto her toes, his mouth taking hers in a slow, heated kiss. After leisurely exploring each other for several long moments, Gray pulled back. “Thank you,” he murmured. “For helping me find the light again. I didn’t think it was possible until I met you.”

Her indigo eyes shimmered with tears. “Dammit. Sorry. I turn into an emotional wreck when you go all sweet on me.”

“Me? Sweet?”

His gruff voice made her grin. “Yes, you, my fierce lion.” She ran a hand over his chest, pausing above his heart. “You might put on a ferocious face for everyone else, but you’re nothing more than a big, purring kitten.”

“Only with you, Sparkle.”

Her smile lit his heart, just like it always did, and he captured her mouth in another scorching kiss. When they finally broke apart, panting with need and desire, Gray scooped her up into his arms and hurried back to their bungalow. His fingers itched to rip her clothes off and, the moment the door shut, he did exactly that.

And, yeah, his woman definitely knew how to make him purr.

Gray’s past was finally buried and the nightmares were over.Somehow, this amazing woman had slayed his demons and herspark had ignited his desire to live again. And he would never, ever take that precious gift for granted. With her as his guiding light, Gray knew their future together would be bright, beautiful and full of promise.

Thank God, for second chances and the love of his woman.
