“Not weird at all. It’s a family weekend.”

She nodded as the words settled over her. It was taking her time to get used to the idea of having any family. He hoped she would warm up more to it because he couldn’t imagine being without her.

“We’ve officially been dating for a month,” she said, smirking at him.

“No, it’s been two months. You’re a great lawyer but terrible at math.”

“Explain how that works.”

“We started dating the night I ran six miles to get you the best Thai food in town, in the rain.”

“I thought that was just dinner and work mashed together.”

“Yeah, me working on getting you to accept you needed to date me.”

Two hours later, they pulled into the family cabin that was lit up and buzzing with activity. Out in the yard, there were tiki torches lit, kids were running around with sparklers, and someone had music rocking.

“Will we get our room with the bunk beds?” she asked, reaching her hand over to slide up his thigh.

“Probably the healing room, which is better. More pillows to cover your moans.”

“Oh my gosh, is it that bad?”

“No. I love it almost as much as I love you.”

Reaching over the center console, he wove his hand in her hair, and her mouth met his halfway. In no time, they had fogged up all the windows.

“We should have made a pit stop before we got here,” he said.

“It’s not too late to go park somewhere,” she breathed.

“Always keep them wanting more,” he said and nibbled her lower lip.

“What?” she said, pulling out of his embrace.

“My buddy on the teams said the easiest way to keep your wife happy is to always keep them wanting more.”

“Wife?”

He gazed into her lust-filled eyes, then kissed her gingerly.

“I hope you will be one day.” He watched as her eyes searched his for the truth, meeting her head-on with it because he loved her and he wanted her forever.

“How do you know I’m the one?”

“Ever since I first saw you, I knew there was something between us. Like a magic spell you cast over me, drawing me in. I’m just waiting for you to catch up.”

A blush blossomed in her cheeks, and she fished a key out of her purse and handed it to him. The key was silver with a heavy weight to it and an odd, grooved pattern.

“What’s this key for?”

“It’s a master key to our new place.”

“You took the plunge and bought something? Wait, did you say ours?”

She nodded her head up and down while biting her bottom lip.
